Tech-ish Question

When JaGeX did the update that involved the 'nuking' of the bots, they mentioned that the update would prevent all bots running on something known as a "reflection" from working. I've always wondered what, exactly, that word reflection meant. I always thought it was some sort of software that takes the game client itself and allows it to be executed through a different program..? My basis behind that thought was, well for starters, the word 'reflection' has 'reflect' in it so I kinda was thinking it was used in a terminology to describe the game being run or reflected onto another program. And, they also implemented that second loading screen, that is what I believe to be the source for reflections to no longer work, because they're unable to load that or.. Something along those lines, haha. I'm not too advanced when it comes to programming. I know this question may have already been answered some place else, but.. What's a 'reflection' bot client?

They also targeted injection bots like RSBuddy. Injection and reflection bots were considered 'smart' bots because they could adjust to their environment unlike colour clickers.

I always thought it was when the bots recognized the colors of things. Like getting data from a mirror or copy, rather than the actual object. I'm probably wrong though.
