Some Graphics Updates

All of those, every single one, was made in paint. No photoshop, I refuse to touch it. My computer won't even run it, and might I say they look pretty damn good. I didn't spend too much time on them, they took like 20 minutes max each... And for being a single layer, you can't say they look bad.

Look at your numbers.... HONESTYLY!!! The graphics area is not active because people are complaining about artists' work. Whether it be a block of random text, or it be photoshopped, it DOESN'T matter. You claim you want it to be "taken seriously", but how can it be taken seriously if all you have are people who are up to your standards?


We've all gotta start somewhere. I refuse to learn photoshop, and therefore my paint skills have increased beyond what they started. Why would someone have to change to YOUR standards to try their hand at something they have no experience in? Seriously.

Just because YOU want it to be "taken seriously" doesn't mean we're all good enough to be serious. I can't open up photoshop, I don't know how to work layers, I can't even make an image transparent if the application DID open. So why the fuck am I restricted from trying my hand at something new, just because YOU feel I'm not good enough?

I say I don't care what you think, I'm not going by your standards, I learn at my own pace, and we all have our own style. If you're going to not allow signatures done in paint to be showcased for critiquing, then there shouldn't be a graphics section, there should be a photoshop session where all you stuck up "artists" who can't even respect another's work reside.


Seriously, it's a fucking forum. It's not going to be taken seriously. Yes, most of what I'm saying is from what I've seen, but the main point I'm here to make:

You clearly don't want us paint artists, so it's not a graphics section, it's just a photoshop section. Make the change and allow paint, or change it so it doesn't allow anything but photoshop "artists".

It's highly offensive to me, as a person who only uses pre-included paint.

Paint is already allowed... People have made large pixel art using paint and posted it there... People have posted work using gimp, fireworks, paint.net, etc. The term "Photoshop" is just a generalization, in a way.

 

It's a generalization that's being taken to the extreme, and insulting inspired artists.

If finn had the skills to put text on there with photoshop, and make it look professional, I assure you he would.

Did anyone take the time to offer him help in making them better? Or even give him assistance in making them look up to YOUR standards?

No, they shot it down, insulted him, or they asked for them for themselves. It was a 50 50 and NO one offered help. Seriously!

 

people don't complain they give C&C which some people need to get better or prefer because coming to my thread posting 4/10 won't help me. C&C is the way to go.

edit: finn art was a joke to people because it was just text on a picture i <3 finn but even i know that was horrible and it mocked the gfx section

 

All they did was offer bad critiques.

Let's put it this way, apparently critiquing isn't done how it truly should be done. You generally HELP the people you're critiquing. If you give a bad number, tell them how to improve it, what to do to learn how to improve it, and then help them improve it.

That's the point of critiquing, not just slanderous comments.

 

Just watch out for vision ex and Ryan, and you should be fine.

Haha, they have no reason to "strip" me of anything. I posted examples in a suggestion, even if I had done so, I'd fight it till the end.

This bullshit needs to stop... Sure, you guys are good artists, I'm not denying that, but it's like you don't want other people to be, so you just shoot them down at any attempt.


How about you focus that energy on the market, and shoot down possible scammers, that's where your focus should lie.

 

C&C tells people what they did wrong and what they should be doing if it's bad like horrible and you to yourself know it is then expect bad comments they tell you what you done wrong and what you should do.

Ok, but your first isn't done in paint. That's my point. People who just use paint have no chance of advancement in there because they want it serious!

Did anyone ask if finn wanted help to make them in photoshop, with better text and a nicer look? No, they just assumed he was being dumb... maybe that was his best attempt, nice to see help coming from there.




There's another made JUST in paint, to prove to you that paint is JUST as good.

You don't know that? You can't assume that...

You can say:

"It looks like you didn't try, but if you are actually trying to get better, here's some tips for how to improve, and where to go to do so:"

Etc, not just "That looks like shit, you suck, put more effort into it"

That's not a fucking critique, that's mean.

 

well you do have a point you cant just assume that is what we as humans do assume without knowing anything. if it was an sig with color and font and not just a picture with text he would of gotten proper C&C

SEVERAL corporations request simple pictures of people with just text on it...

Maybe he doesn't know how to put text on there without a white box..

(FYI, it's impossible in paint unless you copy pixel by pixel, which takes FOREVER, and you wouldn't do it, so don't try).


If someone would have attempted at helping, this woulda gone quiet, but us Paint-Users are under appreciated. Photoshop isn't all that and a box of doritos.

 

photoshop is common to use i rarely hear anything about paint how was he aiming for color on it if that was true there is a paint bucket tool to fill up the background even before i used photoshop i learned how to use the tolls before putting my sig up on sythe. also the text thing i can understand before i used photoshop i made this also.

That's you though. The majority of people here don't learn when you flame them. You have to help them, guide them, teach them... that's the only way to help someone improve. Insulting their work just makes them wanna give up.

 

the world is a harsh place and if you can't handle some internet flaming you shouldn't be on these forums and you should stay in doors. the flaming is to a certain degree because people know they will get reported. none of the less you have valid points.

 

I know what you mean, I'm fine with flaming, I find it humorous, and I'm not disputing it at all.

But there's a place and time for flaming, and flaming others' work is not the place, nor should it be done.
