Technology will only go so far, when you have a 1.2 million man army and missiles already lines up to fire, all it takes is the first move.

Our army and military are 10 million active people or stronger, we have bases world-wide as well as people world-wide.

    N. Korea would be extremely stupid to try anything.

And honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if we had the technology to shoot down any misses before they even hit us.

In my opinion North Korea is like that loud annoying nat that keeps flying around your head that you just want to squash.

I desperately hope they try something to give someone reason to blow them off the planet. Additionally, I think it's far more likely that a "WW III" like situation would evolve from an Iran/Russia kind of issue. I'm not that up to speed with North Korea, but I don't recall them really having any friends.

Japan has instructed its military to shoot down any missile that heads towards it's territory and China has mobilized its military to the NK-Chinese border, as far as I've heard.

China still supply stuff to N Korea but are wanting them to give up their Nuclea shit. But I have if tub tub becomes too much of a threat they will get invaded from S Korea border and from China.

North Korea will be on it's own. China's economy depends on the US plus we still owe them shit tons of cash. If they shoot at us, or even at South Korea they will have no help and we probably will invade and assassinate tub tub.

All i got to say is good luck, they got some pretty big balls if they go through with it.

The people of the U.S. own more the the U.S. debt than China does. Google it. That doesn't change the fact, though, that we still owe them a handsome amount of money.

We're actually on pretty good terms with China right now and our bond strengthens over time. North Korea would be all alone assuming Russia wouldn't intervene (they're kind of wild cards). Most likely they won't, though, because the last thing they want is more people with nukes.

I read recently that this whole North Korean stint is just a result of Kim Jung Un losing control over his country.

    North Korea/ WWIII?

First off, I'd like to get some terminology straight.
WW, or World War, refers to a war in which several countries participate. For example, World War I involved Great Britain, France, Russia, Prussia, Germany, Austria-Hungary, Italy, and the US. World War II also included many of these countries. The conflict with North Korea involves US, NK, and SK. China has not supported anyone, nor has Russia. Three countries does not make for a World War. If it did, the Afghan war would have been WWIII.

Secondly, North Korea does not have missiles that can reach the US. The best missle they have can reach as far east as Japan, and as far south as SK. The only US soil they can hit is Guam, and the US currently has anti-air and missile defense systems in place in Guam.

Thirdly, North Korea has been blowing it out their ass for years and years and years and years and years and years and years. And years. Three generations of dictators have been making war threats their entire career. Kim Jong Un is young and revolutionary, but he's not an idiot. He wouldn't risk provoking the United States in a nuclear war when their county could be decimated with less than 5 nuclear warheads.

I feel like it's North Korea's intention to anger the US, or call on their sense of duty towards communist oppression. The end goal would be global disdain for the US as a result of whatever action they take against Kim Jong Un's war threats. A repeat of Vietnam basically. I think it's their intention to turn the world against us as a power abusing bully, and in turn, win allies such as China and Russia. If that happened, they would have more than a standing chance.

The situation will get no where near WW3. North Korea knows it's limits and now they have even more reason to not take any action, since China said they will work with the US to solve the situation.

To be honest, if there was a war between NK and US it would be worth it. Not like these stupid wars with the Taliban in Afghan and Iraq those are pointless. But when a country is threatening you and you go to war I believe that's a war worth fighting.

Yeah but the difference is that NK are making threats which they do not have the technology or logistics to carry out.

    North Korea/ WWIII?

I think it's really a mixed bag right now. Kim Jong-Un needs to "prove" himself in some way or another to boost his ego to his military and citizens. If they were to fire any trajectory(missile perhaps), I think it would head towards open waters where nobody would be harmed.
This would cause no injuries towards the international community and would essentially tell the world and prove himself to his country "look what we can do! we have potential power; fear us!"

I want to correct some people in here claiming that China and the US are on happy terms(not referring to the US debt). China has actually been allies with North Korea for a very long time. One of the main reasons why NK is stable as it is because China has been supporting them with resources. China does not want US and ally forces so close to their border, so in exchange of providing resources, NK is essentially a wall placeholder. This is the reason why China has hesitated to do anything about the aggressive rhetoric coming from NK since the end of the Korean War. They are also displeased with the US decision of moving more weapon systems in South Korea recently. However, despite this, China has not approved of NK's recent threats, and for now, is working with the US to cease NK to make further threats.

As some have stated ITT, China has more to lose if they do not take appropriate action to negotiate with NK for SK, US, and allies.

Within the past few days, the Secretary of State John Kerry went to China and made negotiations with them to help denuclearize NK with the condition that the US withdraw weapon systems (if I remember correctly).

So the victims of 9/11, the hundreds of thousands of Iraqi's Saddam butchered, Bin Laden hiding in the mountains plotting his next great attack AND
(Now known to be incorrect) intel that Al-Queda could possibly have a N/B/C arsenal isn't a good enough reason?
