Urgot

just tried him first game did decent. Im new to LoL only lvl 22 first account. I always played yi and jungled. Wanted to try someone different and hard. To my surprise hes a beast mid guy

 

He isn't viable in ranked play. I've never seen an Urgot mid and i know i never will.

 

Urgot has super strong harass potential. Low level always try to harass and stay to close to minons. Urgot depends a lot on his team later into game.

His harass becomes more and more useless as the game progresses, and eventually he just becomes a one-trick pony that can fail pretty easily. As a support, he'd become a squishy one-trick pony that can fail pretty easily.

 

This. A support preferably needs hard cc/sustain, urgot has none, i can see sona destroying a support urgot without an issue.

If you like Urgot's harrass potential, maybe you'd like Syndra or Orianna. They're strong mages with extremely long-distance harass that comes with a reasonable mana cost.

 

For him to be useful in ranked, you'd need to be an absolute beast on him. If you were good enough, the pick wouldn't be bad considering almost every ranked player has no clue how to play against an Urgot. As you climb up levels and play more often, you'll start to notice why he's not played as much compared to other champs which are much stronger options.

True, but I think the same can be said for a lot of other ADCs.

 

The only time I've seen Urgot work is with an extremely aggressive bottom duo. Urgot was the "ADC" and their "support" was another heavy poke/CC champion. IIRC it was actually Syndra, like Smurfin said. Our ADC/support couldn't ever farm due to the harrass, and they lost their tower quickly.

We were able to recover from it, though, because like they said Urgot is kind of worthless in a teamfight. He disables himself with his ult, which is counterproductive in a carry.

 

I came across an urgot in ranked recently, i was afraid tbh, never seen an urgot adc in ranked before. But my Thresh + cait destroyed their Urgot/Nami.
