Upgrade Hosting

Please lock this thread. It's just causing lots of flaming.

 

If you knew more about the site, hosting would not increase the speed of it. We are getting DDoS attacked, and hosting would not stop it.

 

Ehem yes it would. Many hosting doesn't get affected by DDoS attacks. I had a website hosting before, and my friend attacked it for fun, after about 30 minutes gave up, because it had protection.

 

Then you should pay for it.

 

Well if it was my website I would.

 

So let me get this straight.

You are bitching because of the DDoS attacks. You are offered a chance to resolve it, and you refuse to because its not your site? That makes you look like a nimrod even more.

You fail, and this whole thread fails.

I'm sorry but I'm not that rich to pay for a new hosting for a website I do not own, why don't you try? Maybe Sythe can add premium membership to save up for a better hosting, or ask people to donate for it. I'd be willing to donate a little bit if I know it goes towards a new hosting.

What makes you think the site owner is rich to pay for a new host?

We already have a donation center, and it does enough to keep this site running that i know of.

If you want to donate, then donate. Don't donate like..1$ and be like "0mg i halped to git a new hoste"

 

Lol dude, a GOOD host with 60gb of bandwidth and 8gb of space would cost $15 a month. How is that too much? Not sure how much bandwidth is used, but that's how much me and my friend's host is, and it survived a DDoS attack.

Like i said, you pay for it, and im sure the owner would be more than happy to get a new host.

This suggestion has been made multiple times.

Server costs reach up to and over 700$ a month. Unless you're willing to pay, don't talk.

 

Just a question: How does it cost $700 a month? Could you please tell me how much bandwidth is used? Even RUNEHQ, which I'm sure has a lot more visits specified that their server takes $180 a month around 2 years ago.

Hm, maybe for the simple fact's that follow :

We are a runescape cheating community. Jagex hates us. The host gets attacked by Jagex, which since this happen increases the price of the hosting.

Well, I don't see any hosting costing $700. Some do, but they're only used by HUGE websites.

Jagex hates the site. They attack anyone that hosts us. We have to pay more than usual because of this.

 

Oh, and some hosting are cheaper and better too. Just because I say "upgrade" it doesn't mean sythe has to pay more.

 

Lol, if jagex attacks a huge hosting company I'm pretty sure they'll attack back. Look, why don't they attack Moparscape, maybe Silab? Rune-Server? Why are THEY not laggy then?

 

No Jagex isn't attacking Sythe, they just send bitchy emails to the host. I doubt Jagex would do something illegal to try and bring a site down.
