Don't leave redirects when moving threads.

    Don't leave redirects when moving threads.

    They just look ugly and there really isn't any point in having them.

    There's also a way to make the "leave no redirect" option selected by default when using the move thread option. Any admin able to edit styles / templates can do it in a few minutes.

    We have the option to leave redirects or not. If you want to see an example of us using the no-redirect option, see the Spam Forum. Every post there gets moved to the archives within 24 hours, as stated in our sectional rules.

    We choose to use redirect or not based on the circumstance. If an OP will travel back to the place where he posted and we didn't have a redirect, he'll never find his thread. If it's becoming seriously a problem, it's more of the general public's fault for posting in the wrong place. Basically, tt's extra cumbersome if we leave no redirects, so we have to.

    The op can simply view all his recent posts to find where his thread went. It seams silly to me to leave a redirect for one person, and make the rest of the users scroll past redirects of threads that don't belong onthe forum they're trying to browse.
