I. How to Flip

The art of flipping is buying an item for a certain price, and then re-selling it at a profit.

How to find the buying price

First of all, you need to find the auto-buy price. This basically means the price you can get the item for in the grand exchange immediately without having to wait. To find out the buying price put an offer for the item in the grand exchange for maximum price. Note down the price you get the item for as we will be selling the item(s) for just under this price.


Typical buying prices of items

If the item is 1k, buy for 30-50gp below the buying price.

If the item is 10k, buy for 200-300gp below the buying price.

If the item is 50k, buy for 1k to 2k below the buying price.

If the item is 100k, buy for 2k-4k below the buying price.

If the item is 1000k, buy for 30-40k below the buying price.

Formula: The buy price of an item is and you need the selling
price? Use the formula: (n/nearest1000)*normalbuyprice

(1700/1000)*35 = 59.5K below the buying price.

And then 1700-59.5 = 1640.5K and then sell for 1680-90.


II. Buyouts are BAD

This could be a misleading topic title, considering myself, I do take part in private buyouts occasionally, but not often.

You should also keep in mind that no merch ever meets its target. And that no matter how kind the high-authorities of a merch may appear to be, it’s only an act to lure you into a false sense of security. You will, without a doubt make profit at the start, but you will be dumped on and the item will return back to its original price before you will be able to dump, and even after that it may fall even lower.


III. You have to lose to gain (patience)

Probably the most important page of the whole guide;

I want you all to listen very carefully when I say this, you aren’t going to profit unless you lose first. You have to experiment and learn how to use the grand exchange. You need to go with your instinct – You’ll get to a point where you can estimate the buying price every single time without fail and your items will work.

Flipping solely works on the grand exchange, if all barrows items are crashing, you aren’t going to be able to flip them – You’ll lose money on them 9 times out of 10. If there’s just been a 2x weekend, do not and I mean DO NOT flip any of the items which were related. You need to think outside the box on this one, if for example ranarrs are crashing, don’t flip ppots. If tortoise shells are crashing, don’t flip war tortoise pouches.

The main requirement of this guide is to have patience. I’m sorry if you thought this guide was how to be an instantly fast billionaire, but that isn’t how it works. 1B is the equivalent of 500$ USD street price, if not more. If anyone could make that amount of money that fast they’d have theoretically millions of pounds – it just doesn’t work like that, and the sooner you realize that you aren’t going to get rich overnight the sooner you will make money.
