Increase the punishment for leaking a member of sythe's personal information

Hard to get a MM in the event of an account sale, since OO can still reclaim the account.

 

Well the persons dox is kinda mandatory to take legal actions if you have been scammed by them. And i have 0 sympathy for these kind of people if you come here to cause harm expect being harmed yourself.

 

Should be the same punishment across the board. I've said this before. Regular users are not protected in the same magnitude as staff and that's a problem.

 

No amount of money equivalates to harm that can cause a person in real life such as a terrible injury. Sorry to say but you're not thinking very broadly you have to realize there is more than the online world.

 

Well i see our moral values differs greatly but you can't change my opinion. I will always take side of an innocent person rather than some scum and will justify his actions against them in the name of justice.

 

No problem man it's just a conversation and was trying to tell you my opinion which is totally fine to have different opinions! I will always take the side of an innocent person and don't get me wrong man I absolutely despise scammers but I still dont feel like it is moral to harras them for that reason.

 

I know many people that have gotten their money back that way and it works very well. I don't support just going to that person and beating him up without giving him a chance to refund as you may think, but if he refuses to do so and that what's have to be done to save other innocent people let it be in my eyes.

 

Way I see it - If you're banned for scamming on here (and let's say you've made it clear you are NOT paying it back or refused to talk to anyone about it) then I would say there should be softer controls on your personal info being posted on here. After all it could be motivation for a scammer to get unbanned so they can get their personal information removed (because who wants pizza deliveries, right?)

If you're banned for another, less serious offence (spamming the site, infraction build-up, posting porn outside USF) then obviously these are not considered "malicious" things to do and having their info leaked is still a no-no.

Whether someone is staff or not should have no bearing on this whatsoever. If the punishment for doxing staff are harsher, then obviously the trolls will target the high profile normal users.

 

There wont really be any motivation to pay back the debt as the information is already posted. Publicly posting the information is very stupid in my opinion if the user scammed has the information he should not be able to leak it to other users as that does not help with anything except excessive harrasment from multiple people

 

The duration seems like a short period of time for a leak of personal information, however, I don't think it should extend bus's banned time. Since if the rule would to be implemented, he'd be banned before it. But yeah, support to extending the duration.

 

support, privacy is key in a forum like this. leaking private information can put some peoples businesses that they run on here in jeopardy due to privacy sake.

 

Support, incidents like the one that occurred last night where bus leaked graves address can really put people's lives at risk. God willing no one comes to graves residence to harass him or kill him.

 

I've already expressed my support for such extensions on personal info bans and I would be fine with a perm ban for purposeful sharing of private information.

 

support, ideally i want my personal information being kept personal. the higher the consequence, the less likely someone will do it.

 

Another thing, when joining a forum like this, people expect the have their personal info kept private. There can't be a simpler way to put this!

 

I would say this or if this is fully off the table just meet in the middle at 3 months for either staff or normal users, of course sometimes staff can use their own discretion. Seeing as I was literally banned for a month for copying someone's email address which was posted by that person or something else but either way part of some dispute/pardon or something, that should obviously not be a 3 month ban (I felt I didn't deserve a ban at all, but whatever ) but the people leaking each other's info in SF/Discord/elsewhere (especially if they've done it multiple times) should not just keep getting 1 month bans lol

 

That is really dangerous. I would hate to see him in a Grave because someone leaked his address

 

Makes you wonder if Bus had no problem leaking Grave's info out because the ban was only a month. I can imagine him going "Well, it's only a month so no big deal" *posts dox*

Whether this is aggressively extended or even made permanent-level punishment, the different ban periods for normal users / staff needs to be removed, it basically tries to make it out as if there is a "lower class" and "upper class" system in place here, where you can get in real trouble for attacking upper class, but only limited trouble for attacking the lower class.

 

It should be 6 months for both really, if not more. Staff may be targeted more often, but the risks and consequences are the same for everyone.
