Rise of 07 gold prices

I've noticed a rise in gold prices after the holiday season recently (up from closer to $1 to closer to ~$1.3. I found this to be a little strange but then again I haven't really been keeping track for years. Is this because of Zeah at all? I'm not seeing any reason for there to be an increase in demand personally. The previous updates have been pretty bad by jagex and I don't see an upward trend especially after dmm became dead.

 

perhaps dead man mode becoming dead triggered a demand in the other servers? Maybe the server becoming dead and the price of dmm falling (swap rates and all) made swapping back to old server unprofitable at best and therefore the demand for more gold is made. Just my hypothesis and first thoughts on the matter.

 

I assume it's because of the Chinese New Year and most of the gold farmers aren't online, lowering the supply and increasing the prices.

As pure addiction has stated, The absence of the majority of chinese has disrupted the flow of gold. This is common every year around this time from what r2 has told me. Prices will settle back down once the chinese return.

 

How dead is it exactly?

 

What can you expect, it's a bunch of people in max mage circlejerking near banks. You have a 0% chance to level up if you start right now. When it first came out it was popping as fuck, but now it's just a few clans trying to 100-0 people at banks while they eat with noted food.
