The link above is a sticky that says that auth codes are not to be sold or traded, citing that the reasons for this are because it "can result in banned auths, scamming, etc." Well, that is no excuse to ban trading these. People pay for them, and they should be able to trade them or sell them, just as long as the buyer and seller know the risks.

The risks involved are the same exact as those with selling or trading a runescape account, WoW account, Aion, Habbo, Steam... and on and on.

    This is just ridiculous.

I think the problem with selling Auth Codes is that people could sell the code, and unlike a RuneScape, WoW account, Habbo, and Steam account, they can still use the Auth code after it's been sold. There's no password for them.

Therefore, one person could sell the same auth code to 20 different people, charging say $5 for a $20 code, and since 20 IP's are using the same auth code, rsbots.net/whatever site the code is from will notice it and disable the auth code.

The rule was enforced since, as Frets said, there's a far higher risk than say selling accounts.

If a person is willing to spend money they might as well buy the original auth.

The same risks are involved when buying/selling runescape pins, but I do agree with the second part.

I disagree.. They put the bots up there for us and put all there hard work, there selling it for a reason, if you buy a hunter auth for $25, and give it to one other person they lose $25. we should even be lucky we have rsbots.net

I worded that badly. What I meant was, it can be used by multiple people at the same time. Once a PIN is used it's done. If someone sells you a PIN and it works, you know they didn't use the PIN before they sold it to you. With an auth code, however, you don't know whether the seller continues to use it etc.

If rsbots find out about sharing code, then they stop the use of that code, so both ppl get screwed

Auth codes can be banned very easily, and also, rsbots and autofighter are other cheating communities, we wouldn't really want sythe to promote breaking their rules.

I prefer this one to all else. I suppose it's respecting their efforts. Why cheat them out of a few dollars? They earned it.

Why cheat Jagex, Blizzard, etc etc (too sleepy to name more than a couple) out of the money they could earn from you while you leveled up an account playing the game legit? That's no excuse to ban auth codes.

They're fellow cheating communities, and also auths are far more unreliable than say accounts.

Yeah what we are doing if we allow this, are to cheat another cheating community. No support.

Screw the other communities. Rsbots ripped me off nearly $50 anyway.

"cheat another cheating community" .. What a dumb excuse..

I'm fairly certain that you pay every month, regardless of how much you actually play.

It seems like you have some problems with accepting criticism. We just don't like your idea; saying our reasons are "dumb" wont do anything to convince us otherwise.
