    Recently Diagnosed with Bells Palsy.

On Thursday (1/16/2014) I was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy Heres a link if you'd like to read up on it Here

I'm just wondering if anyone has any personal experience with it?
How long did it take to go away?
Did you do anything or take anything special? (I'm currently on prednisone)

I'm just incredibly worried about the length of time i'll have this... I was reading online and have heard of people having it for 5+ years, and i've also heard of people who have it come and go within a week...

    Thanks.

Some tips for dealing with Bells Palsy.

Massage your face ANYTIME you can, just do it a lot.

Tape/shut your left eye when you sleep and use lubricant eyedrops frequently so your eye doesn't dry out since you cant close it.

This isn't permanent, you can beat it. Patience is key, sorry for your unlucky lottery win. The chances of getting it are rare, but just have patience.

Good luck, sir. Update us on your recovery, as it can go away in as little as 1 month.

get a professional eye patch from walgreens/CVS/Local pharmacy.

It is a tape that goes underneath your eybrow and around your eyesocket (not sticky on the inside of it). It will make no light be able to enter your eye allowing you more comfort when you sleep

    Recently Diagnosed with Bells Palsy.

It's been 3 days since i was diagnosed. It's unfortunately gotten worse.

With the left side of my lip completely immobilized i can't pronounce certain words.

I have a nasty metallic taste in my mouth which has made me completely lose my appetite.

My girlfriend told me yesterday that i don't close my left eye when i fall asleep so i immediately went to walgreens this morning and purchased the eye tape like was suggested.

I can't smile. I can't frown. I can't move my left eyebrow so at this point i can't really make any facial expressions...

It's completely depressing, demoralizing, and just an all around horrible experience so far. I hope it gets better soon.
