Metal Border

Ok for This Im gunna show you how to do a metal border. Its pretty easy except the blending.

First off open a 450x120 pix with a transparent BG.Grab your polygon Lass tool and make a border.Remember to hold shift for the straight lines. Then fill it in with any random color ( not gunna matter what ). Then Ctrl+D then go with the following blending options.

-Drop Shadow-
-Style Multiply Black-
-Opacity -85%-

-Inner Shadow-
-Blend Mode Multiply Black-
-Opacity 52%-

-Outer Glow-
-Blend Mode Screen-
-Opacity 10%-
-Color White- ( not gradient )

-Inner Glow-
-Blend Mode Screen-
-Opacity 30%-
-Color White- ( not gradient )

-Bevel and Emboss-
-Inner Bevel-
-Depth 100-
-Direction Up-
-Size and Softness 0-

-Satin-
-Blend Mode Multiply-
-Color Black-
-Opacity 30%-
-Angle 19 Degree-
-Distance 11-
-Size 14-

-Color OverLay-
-Color Your Choice-
-Opacity 100%-
-Blend Mode Normal-

-Stroke-
-Size 1-
-Posistion Outside-
-Blend Mode Normal-
-Color Black-
-Opacity 100%-





If you want add another border. Just copy the layer style ( right click the layer style and click copy ) Add the new Layer Under your first.When doing this you will have to do it one piece at a time.Once you do one piece fill it in and Ctrl+D and then do another dont do layer style till you get it all done or you feel it is done.



Add anything you want into the middle. Make this the very bottom Layer.
Then add Text or w.e you want

Looks good. I'll give it a whirl in GIMP and show results later.

 

My friend has GIMP I never wanted it. Is it as good as PS?

 

It's a good alternative.

Best free one out there if you ask me.
