Virtual Item Sales

Well to go in line with the recent change in real-life item sales being changed to Non-Virtual item sales, I think that perhaps a Virtual Item Sales thread should be added. But only non game related such as web hosting, web design services, gift card codes, accounts from other sites, etc. That way people will then see the Virtual Item Sales and then post their virtual items instead of going to non-virtual and plus there's no other place to sell such items.

 

So non gaming related..

I like the idea but there's too much potential for fraud in this case.

Please detail some things that could be beneficially posted there.

Well I was looking in the Non-virtual Item Sales and saw someone trying to sell web hosting. And it seemed that a lot of people were interested in it. So I think web hosting could be beneficial. Also perhaps freelance web designers could offer their services for people. Or even the sale of accounts on a web site, say you have a really awesome username of some popular forum, you could then sell it at the virtual item sales section. And of course there is chance for fraud but that is with everything these days. There really is no sure fire way to stop it because there is always the "what-if".

I myself am starting a real world business and would benefit of web designing sales so I could understand that.

If it's just web related things, I'm not sure how far that could go.

Maybe put something like this in other games, but as a whole different section of the forum idk about. A lot of the non-game, virtual things people try to sell are like generated cd keys or hacked programs.

But.. it couldn't hurt giving this a try.

 

I would like to amend my idea to "Virtual Services and Item Sales" as that would be more fitting so people could offer services such as web hosting or sell virtual items such as domain names, gift codes, etc.

 

This has been suggested many times, and it has been ignored. I still support.

 

Do it... It would clean out the webhosting and web design shit in the programming forum. >_>.

You would just have to somehow provide proof that you have a legit key. Be it a picture, receipt, etc

 

Your list is way too specific. Not sure if that's what Finn wants, but Website Hosting and Reseller Hosting basically fall into the same category: Hosting. Game Code Sales can be done in the other game market from my knowledge. Motion Effects Artists Services? Two things about Wordpress, etc.

Try coming up with a bit better list.

I support this its kindof dumb having non-virtual but not virtual items.

 

Its a bit hard to come up with 30 generic categories. It just seems that it would make sense to put one seeing as how we have a market for everything else, except this, and people try to post sales/services that fall into the Virtual category.

It does sound rather dumb with "Non Virtual Sales" but no "Virtual Sales"...
