Im thinking about getting ubuntu just wondering if i have to uninstall windows before i do it. will it completely earase windows or will i have the chance to put it back cause my pc didnt come with a windows 7 cd. EDIT: oK i have it all ready to go when i re boot my comp i chose the ubuntu. But the screen is all dark and i cant see anything or navigate...anyone help me?
Alright, for one, Ubuntu can be dual-booted. Two, you can install from CD/USB or WUBI, WUBI is the newb way of doing it. You can only use 30GB of your disk with it too. It sucks. Don't do it, if you have, I really do recommend getting rid of it all.
Your best bet is to check out the official ubuntu forums. They have a helpful community who know a lot more about it than most people here.
