    U.S Reading standard.

    Discuss. As some of you may have read, the United States reading level for adults have dropped dramatically. Yet, it's not limited to the adults. Even kids in my grade, ninth, cannot read the required material. They just read the end of the book or go online, and say they read it. Maybe they did not have enough time or something, but if it was an assignment, you should read the entire book.(Back on topic now). I believe that some adults should be at a certain reading level for jobs. This is just my opinion, and I would like to see others'.

    well, i guess it depends on the job, a good percentage of manual labourers are not up to the reading standards, but they can perform their job fine, because most manual labour jobs do not intail any reading.

    When you consider that almost all of the population was illiterate a century ago, we're doing alright.
