New to Vb

I have the Vb6 Portable from this site cause I cant get the full version to work so w.e dont worry bout that. Im really new to Vb6 I have done a few annoyance test. Yeh the simple lil things. But was wondering if anyone could give a good Program that I could learn off of and maybe some lil programs I could look at and type up. Nothings extreme like making my own EliteSwitch ( I would love to know how to do that though ) but just help me out?

I was under the impression that VB5 was compatible (upgradeable) to VB6...

then again, I haven't done much real coding in VB6 for ages, only helping people out with snippets... (its PHP and C for me)

Well if you're new then I recommend you use the newest version.

Yes, VB6 is old, yes, a lot of people use it, but in the end, its all gonna come down to .Net. And when theres something newer than .Net, and VB6 is completely incompatible, I bet people are gonna argue that .Net is the way to go, and so the cycle continues.

Get VB2005 Express if you want to learn is my advice, because its the newest version, includes a lot of updated functions, includes a lot of brand new features, includes a better syntax and full object orientation, includes pretty much all you need to make things easier for you.

I had VB2005 but I couldnt send the .exe I made it was maken me mad so I gave up. And started goin after Vb6 and this was before I ever new about the upgrades to it. And aslo what do I need to get the Vb5 Express C++ C#? What all do I need?
