    My first sig

Hello all, I really was just messin' around in Photoshop trying to put together a sig. Chose a good render(or atleast I like it) so hopefully, after I get better, I'll come back to this one and remake one.

Constructive criticism please. Downloaded CS4 yesterday.

If you would, rate it on a scale to 1 to 10.

Im going to have to say 6.5 for a first sig it is good.. Things you could work on his more colour use.. and try not to place white font over a white background.. Other then that really it looks pretty good!!

    black-white gradient as the bg
render with the default yellowish color as an outer glow
    text

ill give it a 2. There is nothing here that makes it cool. No brushes, lighting, c4d's, filters, etc. The only thing you did use was blending options, but all you did was click the checkmark and didn't even mess with the settings.

There is a HUGE amount of resources in the *ahem* resources section.

I can't even begin on where to start. Look up some tutorials and develop a style. Look up keywords brushes: c4d's: patterns: tutorial

I agree with XS, this sig is way too simple, and you didn't even try.

Find 'what the fuck to do' in some guides. This website is pretty simple and easy to follow. And he's not making fun of you, he's just trying to help.

There's no need to get defensive about a comment, he tried to give you some constructive criticism to help improve your work.

Head over to Dafont to download some different fonts.
Head over to PlanetRenders to download some renders.
Head over to Brusheezy to download some high resolution brushes.

Good luck in your future endeavors. :)
