Runescape on the PS3??

Is there a way to go on runescape on your ps3 via the web browser. all i need is to get java applet downloaded. I have heard that it can be done. if anyone can help and tell me how i would greatly appreciate it

 

that would also be cool if you could on the xbox 360

 

360 doesnt have web browser.

 

That would be insanely awesome. I kinda wish I had one of those internet tvs so I can lay in my bed, chill out, and wirelessly play rs. Wish I had at least a ps3 for this purpose.

You need to install Linux. If you don't know anything about your PS3, though, don't do it. You might fuck it up.

 

can you tell me a little more about it? have you done it or know how?

 

You know what would be easier, connect your computer to your TV and play it that way. if its because you want to use a controller you can buy usb controllers for your computer.

its abit insane to buy a ps3 to play runescape...

 

??? well i already have a ps3 and its in my room. my computer is downstairs and you can connect a mouse to the ps3 so i need to know how to download java

Installing Ubuntu isn't complicated. Try Gentoo, which is.

Anyway, don't bother using your PS3. It's pretty dumb, considering you're too lazy to walk a flight of stairs to get to your computer. If you _really_ want something in your room, buy a cheap laptop, they aren't expensive, maybe $500 for a semi-decent notebook computer.

 

well considering i live in a house with 2 other people who also want to go on the computer. but anyways i was just asking if there was a simple way to play runescape on the PS3

 

I'm not really sure, I know if you homebrew a DS it's possible, but not sure about the PS3.

 

Why would you want to play on a home console when you would have a PC at home and you could play 20x easier on that.

There probably isn't a way to put Java on the PS3, I'm just trying to tell you that it's pointless, why limit yourself and make it so you have to play with harder controls?

 

harder controls? you dont know what your talking about. PS3 has usb ports and u can plug in keyboards and mouse. and 2 people have already posted 2 ways to get java so dont say you cant
