Why do people choose to be gay?

I really don't understand why some people make the choice in life to be gay when they know they will be looked down upon by some people. Does anyone have any reason as to why some people choose to be homosexuals?

 

To a degree, it's not a choice.
It's more of a subconscious decision based on your life experiences.

Some people say that they're simply 'born gay', but there's next to no evidence for this.

Sly, you assume that being gay is a personal choice when there's no conclusive scientific evidence that proves it's either a choice or is obtained at birth.

You assume every gay person wants to go into porn. This is obviously false.

While I'm sure that's what sometimes does happen, it's in no way true for all gays.

x9 and TGUMP, Well put I agree fully agree on what you guys say. Sometimes its not a matter of choice sometimes they will have something wrong with them or they just want to.

 

I do think that it's something either you are born with,or you conclude during your everyday life experience,i know a friend,who got involved into art,and literature,which made him more open-minded and made him think whether he is gay,or people want him to be straight,so he is gay,and he never was attracted to the opposite sex.

And that is if EVERYONE WAS GAY. Not everyone is gay. If no one was gay and EVERYONE went around using their dicks and vaginas to make children, don't you think we would have overpopulated by now?

It isn't a choice, though I can't prove it to you. I am a lesbian, and I wish every day that I wasn't. If I had a choice, I'd be straight.

 

I really don't think people choose to be gay. Do you choose to be straight? Think about it. When a man likes a woman, you think of it coming naturally. When a man loves a man, it is also the same cycle, just not as accepted.

Two minutes before posting that i was talking to a gay guy and he was telling me he knows a guy that shoots porno movies and he said the people get 3k - 5k for one shoot.

 

I'm pretty sure it isn't a conscious choice, though I know people that have been straight and enjoyed it and then enjoyed being gay, so I'm not sure what that'd be. Confusion? At any rate, it doesn't really matter when it happened, or if it will be permanent, you are what you are.

 

If I was gay I would be really open about it. Cuase hey, they'll either really respect you, or you have an easy argument to win.
