Banned for attempted hacking?!

Hello,

So I have had my account banned for attempting to hack accounts by requesting the log in names of accounts being sold.

This is the message I have been sending around!:


"Hi there,

I am very interested in buying your account and I want to engage in negotiations with you about it (add me on skype:bossmanpro) ASAP however there is one crucial requirement I have when buying a main account!

Very specifically, everything about the account is good but the thing that stands out for me is what the account/LOG IN name is (not the display name), for the pure reason that this is unchangeable and so it might be stuck on the account forever if Runescape doesn't introduce another name changing feature.

I wouldn't want to buy an account then realise that I hate the LOG IN name. I can get hundreds of accounts with the skills/quests etc... that I want but most of them have LOG IN names that I would not want. So get in contact, I might really like your one!

Yes I concede, this could like a scamming/hacking attempt, but this is a generic message that I copy and paste to account owners that I am interested in the accounts of.

The reason I do this is for the exact reasons I state in my messages. There are hundreds of accounts with similar skills, wealth, total level etc... that i all like but to differentiate and get the best account for my money the account must have a nice log in name.

This is because log in names are unchangeable and so rather than have something like "fi9whfg9h49th" i would prefer something like "bosspro" or "renegade" or "warrior" or "beast1993" or "chaoticone" etc...

Just like display names are worth something, log in names are also worth something because they are permanant. Being a perfectionist I want everything to be as nice as possible because this is one account that I will have for a long time.

I find it very fishy to say the least.

I'm a little on the fence with this one, so I'll welcome other opinions.

 

I agree with Corey on this... You join, don't post anywhere, but start sending massive PM's asking for login names for accounts. Fishy doesn't even begin to explain this behavior. I personally feel you're a threat and should remain banned. As with Corey though, I'll welcome some further input on this matter.

 

I'd agree with a ban.
