What is a good speaker system for computers?

I'm interested in buying a speaker system for my computer but I'm not sure what to get and what the good brands are. I searched for sennheiser as I have headphone from them but I couldn't find any speaker system products from them so I'm posting here in hopes of learning more about what some good speaker systems are :). The speaker system I'm looking for MUST HAVE A SUBWOOFER. Need to have some good bass with a oomph :)Also I'm looking for a speaker system for my computer not car :p.

I was thinking of getting a logitech one to be specific this one

But I'm not sure whether it's good or not, the reviews look ok but some have described it as having terrible treble and mid ranges. What are good brands that you guys have? My budget is around $150 or so but I may be able to extend that if paying more makes a significant improvement in the product quality

I've never had any problems when purchasing a Logitech speaker system. They build them with quality, and they last for years.
I would recommend getting the Z506, a buddy of mine owns a set, and they sound superb for less than $100. The Z506 has more power+ 5.1 surround, while the Z523 has less power and is only 2.1 surround. I would personally choose the Z506 speakers (which are cheaper) anyday over the Z523.

Yeah I like logitech too. I have some cheap logitech ls21's which is their most basic package of 2 speakers and a sub but the sound quality is great without ramping the sound up too much (I couldn't have it that loud anyways or my dad would kill me lol). Had it like 1.5 years and it was cheap (I got it on special, for $30 NZD) and I've had no problems.

All depends what your price budget is.

I have those speakers you linked, they're very good.

depending on your budget, you may be surprised with some speakers. If you go for a proper high-end company's setup...you'll find that a true quality audio driver can produce much more sound than you would expect.
For example, the bowers wilkins MM-1 speakers are spectacular. The sound quality is unbelievable...and they hammer out some really nice bass...you'd think there was a sub hidden somewhere. Considering their size, it's truly impressive that those things can play down to 38hz without a sub on up to 22khz.. You get what you pay for. The Logitech Z506 5.1 system can play down to 45 hz, and up to 20khz...and that's WITH a sub.

Audioengine makes some very nice quality speakers.

browse around. Turn it into a long-term investment...something you'll keep for a long time and will give you an appreciation for quality audio components, versus a throwaway system. Sure you'll pay more upfront, but it's worth it.

if it's too far outta your budget though for the time being, throw everything I've said out the window LOL.

Are you looking only for a 2.1 system, or are 5.1/7.1 systems in play? If you're interested in 5.1, I can link you to the one I have, and I love it.

I don't really mind whether it is a 2.1 or 5.1 or 7.1, I just really want some speakers with a subwoofer to use for music, movies, gaming etc. Subwoofer is a must as I haven't got one at all in my room :p

Here's the system I currently have. I love it. Great bass, great sound quality, and it's a 5.1 system. Albeit a bit pricy, it's well worth the price IMO. 500 watts, multiple input channels, and even has a remote!
