[Tutorial] Guide to Playing Halo 2 Online

Introduction
Although XBC games are back online; not fully, however there is a program that allows you to connect to a server and play Halo 2 online and all other XBC games. This is aimed at those in the sythe community that were unaware you could still play all XBOX Classic Games Online such as Halo 2 even after their online ability has been removed.

XBC; What is it?
XBOX Connect [XBC] is software that runs through PC and will let you play Microsoft Xbox/360 games Online. The process works similar to a System Link however links worldwide just like XBL . You dont have to pay for expensive online gaming services anymore as you do not need Gold for this!

Can You Be Banned For This?
No you are in no way violating XBOX/Microsoft's TOS you are basically just playing on a computer hosted server however just using an xbox, Halo 2 still has a large and active community on the PC.

Requirements

• A PC / Laptop
• Broadband/Fibre Optic Internet
• Your Xbox 360/PSP
• XBConnect [Free to download just Google it]

How To Connect

1. You need 2 Ethernet cables, one will go from your Xbox 360 to router. The other cable will run from your Pc to your router.
   
2. All you need to do now is load up Halo 2 or any other XBC game on your Xbox 360 --> Create a profile --> System Link --> "Press A to Continue" --> Stay at that page.
   
3. Now, back to your computer. You need to now open up XBC. Once on XBC click 'tools' --> 'find' --> 'My console'. There should be one or more adapters check marked. You then need to click 'Ok'. Configure your connection and your ready to jump into your favourite XBC game.

Pro's

• No XBOX Live Gold Membership required as you are not connecting to XBOX Servers
• Play all your favourite XBC Games
• Play the XBC you never got to experience. I recommend Halo 2 the Community is great and continuously growing.

Con's

• Finding a match for some XBC games can be difficult due to the small amount of people currently using XBC games it's very limited.
• Requires a PC to be wired to your XBOX, difficult if they both aren't in the same room.

 

I doubt Ill ever pick up this game again, but if I do, Ill check this out. Thanks for the guide

 

I miss halo 2. The best halo ever made. I've known about this method for a while.

 

The method has been around for some time however not many people know about it and those such as myself dedicated to Halo 2 could benefit or even those just interested to see what it was like.

 

Halo 2's population is definately growing surely but surely, I've found alot of the good FFA players are back on there.

halo reach is complete garbage compared to halo 2. u must be one of those noobs that started played at like halo 3.

 

Have you actually ever played H2? It is superior in EVERY way to reach, I mean your getting out DMR'd in Reach oh we'll just use armour abilities and be invinsible... no just no. Its trash and ruined competitive halo full stop.

honestly, I've been paying halo since I was 6 and a half and now halo 2 I back baby!!! I've had enough of halo reach. I have been deranked 6 bloody times. time to join my friends and do some bloody map explorations and glitches and shiz. WOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
