Creating Custom Metal Textures
1. Create a gradient

Make sure it fits the theme of whatever you are making


About 15 to 40% should be fine


40-70 Pixels should work
Changing the angle will also change the flow of the metal

Then crop out any parts you don't like, and use it as a texture. You can also make it blue or green or any other color - if you want to make a Runescape metal for example

Don't quote me on this, but I believe that you can add some of the preset textures to give it a "dirtier" and not as clean look.

I haven't done it in a while though, and I don't know if I ever did. I just think you can
