    Now you might ask What exactly do I have to do to buy a pc/mac and what do I need to take a look at?

    You need to look at:
    The monitor, You need to check how much resolution it might be for example
    1600x1200. It matters because you need to see how much space you have on your desktop to place things on it.

    The cpu, this determents how fast your actually is It might be measured in mhz or ghz (1000 mhz=1 ghz) So if it was 900 mhz you could ask for a better one and you might get a 1.5 ghz which is ALOT faster.

    The keyboard, this is very useful you need it to type things up, Like this thread. Without a keyboard you cannot explore the internet with such fun.
    You need one that is not so cheap and one that also looks great and they keys are nice to press.

    The mouse, there are wired and wireless mouses. People who hate wires might decide on getting a wireless one, It dosn't really matter. Your mouse controls your cruiser on your screen, you can download diffrent ones instead of the basic windows arrow. The mouse is used to click diffrent stuff.

    The operating system,also known as the OS, There are many different Os, the latest windows one is windows vista. Operating systems are made with millions of codes. There are also other operating systems not only windows, there is linux, like the ubuntu and more. There is also mac.

    Hard disk drive, also known as the HDD. This is where all your data is stored including your operating system, the more you get the more it can hold.You can install more hd drives not only one.

    Speakers, most people know what these are it's just like speakers in a car but its in boxes and plays music or sounds from your computer.

    Audio card, This is where the sound is created and sent to your speakers to make the sounds.

    Ram,also known as random access memory, this also makes your computer faster, the more you have the faster it is for example there is 256 mb
    and there is 2gig and more 1024mb is equil to 1 gigabyte.

    Mac or pc? This is a choice you have to make what ever you prefer you go with on a mac there is only mac operating systems, on pc's there is only windows and linux.

    What can a pc/mac be used for?
    It can be used for many diffrent things, from viewing photo's, to conversations over the net, Even finding a job! You have a wide selection of pages to view on the internet, there is even online jobs on the net.

    Whats a virus? How can I get one?Why do people make viruses? How do I prevent myself from getting a virus?

    These are simple questions, there are many different types of viruses, for example keyloggers which look at each one of your keystrokes, there is trojans that can access your web cam and everything!

    You can get viruses from bad websites, downloading bad stuff, and most of those serial cracking websites.Alot of people make viruses for no reason to be honest, I dont quite know why. Some people make them to get revenge or others do it to crack someones password for games and msn an other things.

    You can prevent getting a virus by scanning Each and Every file you download, They can contain harmful viruses you can go to this website which uses alot of anti-virus software to scan the file by clicking here You can also download anti-virus on your pc, some there is a trial And others its free. Some have trials for 30 days only then you must purchase the product, I suggest using Kaspersky you can download it by clicking Here This is only a trial version though.
    And for the internet security download click here
    Another reminder this is only a trial version.

    How To Resolve some LAG!
    Im Guessing this will help most of you.By Pressing Control+Alternate+Delete you open up the task messenger.
    On the task messenger there are tabs.By clicking process it shows you all the processes running in your computer.
    For every process your computer is working for. Explorer Is your desktop and start menu.
    By Using start+R. You can RUN processes like MSPAINT and more.
    If you lag alot and you can't close your internet. If you look for IEXPLORER.And end the process your internet
    Will automaticly close.If you feel like you need to get rid of alot of lag and want to reset your pc, and you have
    work thats not saved If you end the process Explorer.Your taskbar will disappear BUT DON'T CLOSE YOUR TASK
    MESSENGER.Click File--> New task and type explorer.exe.<START+R opens run Which is the same as doing a new
    task in task messenger.)

    This is like reseting your pc.

    Keys and what they do

    Haha,well thats guide for total newbs,but i think people new to computers will not pleasantly understand whats Random access memory,to be more explainable you should type that is : More ram = faster computer :p -.
    I think this chart will make your computer run as fast as it was intended.
    1ghz = Recommended 256 or more ram.
    2ghz = Recommended 256/512,but mostly come with 512.
    3ghz = These usually come with 512mb/1024,but i recommend minimum of 1024mb.
    4ghz = These come with 3x512/1024/2048,usually come 1024/2048.

    Just to make you sure you dont buy a 4ghz with 512 ram,or 1ghz with 1024 ram,either way your computer will be stuck at ram or at the cpu,so always consult with computer experts at dedicated forums before buying a new computer or details,it will always prevent you from being ripped or misunderstood.

    good tut for total newbs :D

    clock speed means almost nothing to contemporary processors (save for overclocking that helps boost speed) almost everything above a pentium 4 is exempt from what you just said, for the average user/office machine 1 gig is plenty, for gamers 2 gigs of quality highspeed (provided your mobo supports it) ram will be fine

    Really good guide, good job for putting the work and effort in. Though here are just a few connections.

    Technically this is right and wrong. Firstly, a "Mac" is actually a PC as well as a notebook, Macs can be laptops also. Also, funnily enough the computers produced by Apple are actually classed under the name "Mac" and no longer are called "Macintosh" (though obviously the name did derive from that source).

    As it has been said, in this day and age processors can have lower clockspeeds but higher performance. For example an AMD 3800 running at 2Ghz will perform better than a P4 at 2ghz.

    Actually there are other operating systems, like Solaris.

    Now I guess this isn't exactly "wrong" though you could perhaps go a little more in depth, stating that all your computers components are actually connected to this.
