    [Tut] How to make a noise background! [Tut]



    First start off with your background. I've chosen #151515.

    Make a new layer and fill it with black.
    [​IMG]

    Go to Filter > Noise > Add Noise and use appropriate settings.
    [​IMG]

    Set the settings of the noise layer like those shown.
    [​IMG]

    It should now look something like this.

    And that's all there is to it.
    Here are some examples of it used mes en scene.

    When is is darker it can be a nice way to contrast lighter colours.

    You can even do it successfully to multiple colours if you play with the opacity of the noise layer.

    It can further be improved with the use of gradients, which can be seen here.

    I suggest that monochromatic be checked if you want it to look better aesthetically.

    Thanks for the tip! Using that removes the need for Hue/Saturation and makes incorporating vibrant colours easier. I've reflected this in the tutorial.
