    Trying to get into IT

Im trying to get into some type of IT work im going to get my certs right now
Im going for my CCNA and probably Security+ next

I work for a cable company pretty big one and im a field technician so i have my foot in the door
for networking but i want to get out of the field and do something useful for my future

So my question what steps should i take? Am i wasting my time with CCNA or certs in general or what else should i be going for after? any suggestions will be appreciated thank you for your time

Going for certs isn't a bad idea. IT generally isn't an area dominated by people who have qualifications, IT employers are more concerned about your skills. It just depends on what area of IT you want to get into. If you're interested in more technical stuff like neural networks you should probably just self-learn instead of doing a quant degree. Though if you're interested in IT architecture/systems/etc certs is probably the best way.
