There are noobs putting [TRUSTED] on their posts, there should be some kind of rule, such as a mod has to approve trusted tags or 500+ posts with x amount of vouches for x amount of dollars. Seeing these people with 5 posts putting [TRUSTED] makes me angry, I would say I am very honest and would never scam by my 3 sales makes it so I cant put that tag just yet. And the day I feel as if I am [TRUSTED] I would like that to mean something, as if I earned it. Not just put it there.

It's up to you to decide who you deem trusted. If they want to put it, they are free to do it, but of course, once you see the user details you won't trust them.

Yeah but it just seems like there should be some type of standard to define the tag.

I remember someone posting something like this, and the answer was it's your choice to put [Trusted] or not, but it is the buyers choice to deem if you really are.

And a mod put that as the response? Seems odd, its just a waste of time to see buying all rspg[TRUSTED] then opening it and seeing posts: 6 and the post reading something like I will NOT go first I am not here to scam and I am trusted. This could be part of why sythe is always down... Reloading all these pages to find a good buy/seller for items or gp takes up some bandwidth. Just my opinion I just dont like how every thread has the tag there and the people that deserve it get overlooked.

No. This new standard you want would have to be retroactive and mod resources should not be dedicated to changing thread titles.

This thread topic has come up many times before. The general consensus is that it is up to the buyer to deem if the seller is trusted or not.

Anyone will tell you the same, this has been suggested already.

You just deem trusted who you think you should.

    Nothing further.

I mean, if a mod check this, they will tell you the same.

Basically, this is a death thread already, it has no future. :noworry:

As always, use your own discretion when trading with anyone. Post count does not mean trust.

This argument always comes up and the general consensus is that it doesnt make much of a difference.

Just ignore you, you can deem who you think is trusted or not.

I'd like to see it be put onto the DNS list. We're never going to censure threads down to this level, so there's no point suggesting it.

The only consensus is between the members of the staff who decide to completely ignore a suggestion that obviously means something to many users since it has been brought up again and again. If something has potential to protect users and requires almost no effort to enforce it, there is no reason not to do it other than pure laziness.

    I agree.

I say a 100+ vouches and this must be VERIFIED by a Staff member, to be able to use these tags.

And SuF is completely right, if it's being brought up again and again, it show's that the community want something. So why let it go to dust again and again and again..

Or instead, spend our time on more useful moderation rather than asinine wording of Thread titles?

We shouldnt have to control every part of the market for you to be able to trade, and frankly, if you go solely on the fact that they have that as a Thread title, then you're ridiculous.

From what I understand, this is a relatively free market, we dont want to control it more than is necessary.

And laziness is what has brought this types of threads to nothing, if mods are not willing to do it, there's nothing users can do about it, which is unfair at some point.

A sticky in every section, for 150+ vouches requirement to be able to put trusted tag in your thread could do it, getting help from the users reports could be easily handle-able.

I doesn't really protect all the users, but we've got to agree it does help users to recognize better and not allow people use something they don't deserve.

Now, this has brought from my memory hahanerd's case where admins didn't allowed him to have the Ex-Moderator rank on his siggy. Not equal comparable, but similar. Just like a rank can increase trust, so is a tag that can be easily misinterpreted by some users.

This and many other suggestions are being lost because of the staff itself sadly. Some moderators get the job done, some others do, late though. Some moderators don't even want to do the job.

But, I'm not here to judge, I'm fine here... My scammer reports where handled fast when I did them(Long time ago)... and this kind of stuff doesn't really affect me, but when I think of newcomers, and how stupid I also was when I joined the forum at first, and how fooled I was by things like high post count and such show me the community is everyone, and not just the staff and those I trade with.

I just thought I'd write this being part of my many opinions I have of Sythe. Because we all have to accept it, there are flaws everywhere.

    EDIT:
Title Edit: No more than 20 seconds.

If you indeed feel there's a lot of work, why don't you suggest to admins to get more staff. I don't really know about reported posts and scam reports statistics, but if you ever feel like is to much work, talk about it and it will get sorted.

Okay, how can we define who is 'Trusted' or not? should we just remove the whole Tag completely? what if a 'Trusted' (someone who passes, lets say, a 150 post count requirement to be allowed to use it) member scams?

Setting the requirements for this rule in itself is controversial, so again, No support.
