Trent any chance RID will adopt OGL as an alternative to color?
I brought the idea to his attention soon after Bot Nuke, and he said that the problem is, with his approach to botting, he believes it to be very important that his software breaks no real life laws. Any 3rd party software, not made by Jagex, who's developers had the intent of loading RS.jar to RAM through this software (meaning any bot client, like Epicbot, Powerbot, Nexus, Rarebot, Runedream, Runeshark, et cetera, that when ran, loads Runescape on your computer) is in violation of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, which Jagex now has increased power to use since they moved control of the company to the US somewhat recently. Simba is in a legal grey area, since it's software can be used to load RS, however that is not it's only use, since you must kind of 'grab' RS using it, so I think it would be extremely difficult to sue the devs of Simba.
So, where does OpenGL Interception come into play here? Well not only does it load the game to RAM, but it also reverse engineers the game code to interact with it, meaning it is in violation of the DMCA. Jagex has tried to attack RiD for copyrighted images in the past, but a simple change removed the threat, so if Jagex is so uptight about images, they wouldn't be too picky about suing RiD for violating the DMCA by switching to OpenGL. The same thing that happened to the Snellmans could happen to the developers of OpenGL bots, so just keep that in mind
