Transition from GIMP to PhotoShop and Illustrator... easy?

I've been using GIMP for years and years now, but I've decided to take up learning graphic design as a profession... so my question is: will it be easy learning how to use PhotoShop and Illustrator since I pretty much knew 95% of GIMP's features?

Apparently PhotoShop is even more user-friendly... How hard is Adobe Illustrator to figure out? It's going to be an essential program for me to learn... I just hope it won't take years to adjust to :/

 

Well,, my experience with photoshop is that it's kinda hard to learn,, I've been using it for over 5 years now and I'm still learning new stuff to be honest xD

But i don't know how much GIMP looks like photoshop,, you do have some experience in designing,, when i started out i never made anything in my life!,, so maybe it's easier for you to get the hang of it

I've been using illustrator for a few months now and i find it a bit tricky at some times,, But the basic is almost the same as photoshop to be honest,,


But nonetheless,, all adobe software are pretty tough to learn,, it just takes patience and motivation to keep learning and improving,, at some times you may think you're not improving at all (especially in the beginning),, but just stick to it and you will definitely improve


If you have any questions about these programs don't hesitate to ask,, there are many people here willing to help

 

A lot of the features in Photoshop are similar to those in Gimp. So, with some practice, making the transition shouldn't be too difficult. You could also get Adobe's training manual.
