General start up?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could give some pointers on some start up questions (livestreaming/ video making). I am currently trying to get into livestreaming and or video making, but i'd like to have a decent set-up before I start this adventure. What I have now is just an AlienWare x17 i7... basically a supped up x17 that my wife bought me (I would have picked a smarter choice). As for a headset I have the basic AlienWare head set as well as TurtleBeach's x14 I believe. For recording and livestreaming I have OBS (livestreaming) and I have Fraps (paid) for recording. At the moment I do not have any edditing programs.

Money is not a problem. I am in the military and my wifes and I housing and food is paid for. But I don't want to buy a 500$ edditing software or a 300$headset right off the bat. Because if I end up not liking the work I have to put in this will all be for waste.

Also I would be playing OSRS or WoW. Any pointers on gear or just general start up info would be awesome.
