Fireballs over Eastern / Mid-West United States

WTF is a fireball? Just a ball of fire naturally in the sky, result of a solar flare, or are the scientists at it again?

Tried to submit the report but the page wouldn't open for me gf.

 

I honestly don't know, I was too lazy to read the 2nd article all the way through. I'll read it all the way through at work tonight. My extended family is from PA but they said they didn't see anything.

 

Seems to me that a fireball is a type of meteor with much more heat. Quite interesting though!

 

Yeah from the looks of it, it probably is just a meteor with heat (but isn't that all of them once they enter the earth's atmosphere...?)
