MLB and NBA, wanted to be cool :(

But really, any NHL fans out there? I'm down to have some good talk about hype surrounding the 2015-2016 season! How will Kessel fit in with the Penguins? How will the Kane accusation affect the Blackhawks this season? How will the Oilers do after a new coach, a new goalie, and the #1 pick Connor McDavid? Any fans out there, let's talk ^-^

Penguins- Also make some big trade and always choke play off time. They have no defense or true leadership. Tired of seeing crosby flop and cry

Oilers- good coach good draft and decent supporting cast. Made a lot of improvements and going in the right direction.

Just read up on Kane's rape case and really dont know much about it. Did read however Sharp fucked a team mates wife. Probably one of the reasons he was shipped out (not including cap issues) I think the hawks take a step backwards this year. They also need to dump a few contracts like bickells

Really hyped for my Lightning! Think their solid drafting and developing has come to fruition. We should be pace setter in the east. However Stamko's contract will be a major concern. I sure hope he signs long term or we trade him to Toronto for 12 first rounders. (Ya toronto is that stupid)

Really hope the bruins take a further fall from grace. They are slowly losing their fear factor and becoming old and slow. With lucic gone hopefully someone can break multiple parts of marchand. Chara should be traded this season while he still has value to a contender.

cant wait to watch the flyers not make it to the playoff's again. Shouldnt take much for ownership to get impatient and fire coaches and make trades. Philly fans tears make me sleep better at night

Penguins - Yeah, completely true. I remember the hype that was around him when he was in like a 12 goal drought in the 2014 playoffs lol. There defense is shabby at best, with a bit of an overrated goalie imo, at times. Fleury is good, but I just don't see him as the stellar goalie people make him out to be.

Oilers - Follow up question: Do you see them making the 2016 playoffs? Why :p?

Hawks - I think they'll be ok. The good core is still there, and sharp needed to go. Low production, high contract etc. But great pickup for dallas.

Lightning - Becoming a real fan of them lately <3 They would never trade stamkos. Chokes in the playoffs? Not really, but very streaky. They'll sign him.

Bruins - All the horrible trades they made man. What are they doing lol? I mean they flipped Martin Jones well to the sharks, but C'mon lol... Lucic? That's who i think of when i think of the bruins. Chara, Lucic >.<

Flyers - Real sad to see them. Voracek and Giroux are an amazing combination, but they are just locked in too many failed contracts, unfortunately :L

    hey you, fuck you :(

in all seriousness though I was blown away at the kessel trade. Sure I guess there wasn't that much interest in him from other teams, but a few prospects AND we retain a part of the salary seemed just a bit much for me.

although as a leafs fan I really don't expect much from the team anymore. It's always "rebuilding" year after year, and even with Babcock real changes won't happen until 4, 5 years down the road if any.

an 8m contract for someone who isn't like crosby, malkin, etc? No way you could trade him and get someone else to retain it, unless you get someone like lucic and something else haha. Babcock is an amazing coach, but it'll take a couple years. Offense, defense, and goaltending is meh.

Dont forget the 3 first round draft picks they originally traded to boston just to get kessel. Leafs are fucking retarded straight up

As for kessel the guy can score 30-40 goals a year. He's a wet paper bag defensively but ive seen improvement in that area from him recently.

I wouldnt pay crosby 8m+ a year right now till he wakes up. He hasnt been the same since the concussions... He doesnt have that lights out ability anymore.

Hawks needed to trade sharp i agree but i think his presence will be sorely missed. He was a grinder and a playoff work horse. He followed one simple rule: Put the puck on net always.

Stamko's doesnt choke in the playoffs at all. He was streaky this year but he still created plays and had some really nice goals stolen in the detriot series. Sure hope we sign him the kids a fucking class act.

Of course they'll sign him. The lightning drafted him with the first pick in... 2008? He is a franchise player who will never leave them. The trouble 3-4 years down will be keeping who they have atm. With how well the triplets played, and if they continue to do so, it'll be hard to keep them in reasonable contracts under the salary cap haha. But at the very least, keep Tyler Johnson. The guy is amazing to watch.

You would be surprised at the ridiculous amount of speculation amongst the leafs fanbases that he's coming here.

"Stamkos is from Markham, he's obv gonna sign with the leafs!!!!"

The Lightning would be absolutely retarded to give up Stamkos, especially for anything that the Leafs have, which is pretty much nothing at this point, at least that is worth him.

And leafs fans lol. Respect to them for staying true to being a fan. But Stamkos is not going to Toronto lol.

Mcdavid is over-rated, he has way too much pressure on him and he will fail. Theres every year a new "super talent" that they think will be amazing most of the time it doesnt turn out too good. I think nashville is going to be very strong this year again, they are really one of the top teams out there especially with their elite goaltending and defence.

Mcdavid, idk. I was in 4 fantasy drafts so far, and here is how McDavid was drafted:

One of them took him third, one took him first round, one took him like 40th, and one took him like 60th.

The fact that he scored 5 goals out of 8 in one of the Oilers scrimmages shows he has talent. I think he'll be quite good, but not the 30+ goals, 80+ points everyone thinks he will be. Maybe around a Johnny gaudreau status.

Nashville... Idk. Points wise, I can see it. Going far in the playoffs? Not so much imo.

Last year they would have went far if they would have had weber, they were so freaking close to pushing out chicago so mark my words buddy, i live in the edmonton area so id like to go watch a few games when the seasons starts but apparently they're already sold out for a a few games because people think mcdavid is going to be able to score 100 goals this up coming season, he is good no doubt about it but NHL is at a totally different level than OHL, ive seen so many talented players coming from KHL even though KHL is a top league in Europe they still struggle so we'll see how it goes with him but i think people are expecting too much from him at this point.

Even aside from McDavid, I think Oilers fans have a legitimate reason for hope this season. With the addition of an actual goalie, a good coach, and a hyped up #1 draft pick, along with some real talent in Taylor Hall, Nugent-Hopkins, etc., it is possible they could be in the playoffs this year. I don't personally think they will, but next season if they continue to get better players, I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the playoffs.

Cam Talbot. Search up his stats when Lunqvist as injured. Should be a good run for him :)

Best of luck. With Babcock, maybe in the coming years.

Next year they might. This year? I think around 20th, which is still a good improvement.

Lol gl. Another suspension of Kronwall? Pull another BaconCountry why don't you lols
