Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Cinema 4D, Maya. These are fairly baseline graphics products for all skill levels.

Not that I'm suggesting illegal activites whatsoever, but if you're not really looking to see a return cash wise, then might as well get the trial and crack them..

Depends on what you want to do really.
BTW Maya, AutoCAD and all autodesk software comes free if you say you're a student. No need to prove or anything. They do watermark everything you make, however.

Why are people listing editing softwares? By graphics software I assume he's talking about what we're using here...

Photoshop, Illustrator, Cinema 4D. Those are the basics.

In-Design, Maya, 3DS Max and Fireworks are also used at a higher level.

After Effects and Final Cut Pro have nothing to do with graphic design, it's all editing.

After Effects can produce some amazing effects, especially lens flares with the right plugins - so it can be used as graphics software... I mean it can be used to produce some awesome stuff if you know how to use it. Final cut is more straight editing though.

The ideal set-up, in my opinion, is Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, C4D. They all work together perfectly.

You have no grasp on what it is to be a Graphic Designer then...
Graphic Designers explore many facets of the design industry, and personally I (as well as the majority of my peers) find Final Cut Pro to be an extremely valuable tool when creating moving image and design campaigns at University.
Let's not get into a debate over this.
