Rs3 = Less bots = Inflation of rsgp price?

I reckon RSGP is going to inflate greatly due to the banning of bots resulting in fewer goldfarmers.

Possible investment?

Take this equation from economics.
MV=PQ
M = Money Supply of actual $
V = Velocity of circulation
P = Price Limit
Q = Real output of RSGP
Basically its algebra.

M remains constant. V remains constant. Since Q decreases, P must increase to balance the equation.

RS3 was leaked on a youtube video or live feed (can't remember which one) where a Jmod leaked (purposefully maybe?) that EoC = RS3

 

It was leaked on the runescape live stream, They didn;t say EOC = Rs3 but they did mention a "Runescape 3"

 

Assuming that there is more GP being brought into the game (through drops and such) than there is being taken out (Through bans or ingame money sinks) I don't see the price rising other than a panic rise. The entire RS Gold market is based on assumptions. A real economy knows how much money is in circulation where as us as the RS black marketeers make a fairly educated guess as to how much GP is circulating through the black market - that is how the prices for the gold market works. Consider the dupe for a moment and how much it drove prices down, because it suddenly forced the market to be more competitive because of a max influx of GP.

Why would there be an increase in drops and such? Mostly the people that do this are gambling clans and they are full in action currently so I don't understand how there would be an increase. I don't think Jagex really bother with rolling back accounts but I do think that potentially more money will leave the RS economy through bans. This really just suggests that it would be a decrease in Money Supply but just as you say, it is based on assumptions. IRL markets are based on assumptions also though, so basically the market will be subject to change depending on whatever people decide it will do through their assumptions and actions upon these assumptions.

 

If RS3 is a separate game from RS2, like RSC was to RS2, I don't see how RSGP would increase.

Everyone will want currency in RS3, not RS2.

 

As Sythe mention in his thread, RS3 will cause bots to be down for at least 3-6 months, bot creators would have to start from scratch, gp would rise in that time.

 

Not necessarily. People still want currency for RS Classic even, so I doubt it will be much different for RS2. This will likely just be veterans though that decide to resist the change, like what happened in Classic.

 

Take RS3 off of the subject header, it's not going to be in production until 2014 apparently EOC is a RS update, not a whole new RS it's not rocket science. RSGP will rise upon speculation of the bot nuke, and as it's already happening we should start to see changes soon. I'm not going into further detail because that's all there is to say upon the matter unless I fill you full of irrelevant complicated sh*t.

 

As soon as Jagex release RuneScape in HTML5, then yes I believe there will be a spike in RSGP prices. This being because bot makers will need to completely start form scratch for their bots as well as their scripts. While waiting for the bots to come back, less GP will be injected into the economy so yes, the prices should raise.

Jagex hinted at RuneScape 3 soon. It's exciting because Jagex are moving from Java to HTML5, therefore opening a lot more options.
