Question about IP bans.

I've been wondering, I use proxies alot to hide my IP, If jagex decides to IP ban me will it ban my actual IP number or the proxie IP number, just asking, Anyone?

 

Jagex doesn't do I.P. bans.

 

Yeah i don't think they do... But it will be your real IP as RS doesn't allow proxies (go onto your acc and ull see your real IP in the start up menu)

 

they dont do ip bans anymore, i thnik they would only do a uid ban. Not sure exactly what it is but ive heard about it.

 

Jagex uses I.P. addresses for several things.
One is for account recovery.
Second is when you purchase membership, to prevent fraud.
Another is to keep track of who accesses your account. For example if your hacked they will be able to tell it wasn't you on the account, as it was accessed from a different than usual I.P.

 

They just ban your username (uid (Assign a number to each player)).

 

they do ban ip adresses and the way to prevent it is to delete .uid file in your jagex_chache folder which is probaly located on your c-drive.

 

That doesn't make sense.. At all.
I know Jagex has an cache on your hard drive, but it's quite unlikely to have anything to do with your I.P. adress.
Jagex has their own logs of that.

EDIT: I just took a look, yes you are most likely right. It could be used to keep track of the accounts you use.

if you macro on your main IP, they will ban your macro, main, pures etc.

 

As long as u delete ur UID this wont happen.
