[To Global Mods] Not impressed.

My request for a new avatar has been sitting there for the good part of 4 days and still hasnt been attended to yet. There are also a lot of others there as well, whatever.

I also made a thread in the Community section 3 days ago that is yet to be approved. If you refuse to approve it for whatever reason, i beleive i should receive a PM saying 'your thread has been disapproved" so im not just here twiddling my thumbs for the next week wondering why the thread i spent 2 hours on isn't up there yet.
If you feel my thread is a troll which it is NOT, could you please approve it and move it to the "Suggestions" forum if it is more suited to be there.

4 Days waiting for a new avatar isn't too bad really. I can imagine it wouldn't be overly fun changing every ones avatars. I once had to wait nearly 2 weeks, that was excessive. 3 days for the community thread to be approved is too long though definitely.

 

4 days isn't much to be honest, just be patient and wait it out. They'll get around to it soon enough.

 

Personally, I believe the avatar changing system should be part of the donation center. This would make the entire process much less laborious for those that have to do it. When I was a global mod, I *really* hated going through the avatar request thread and I can see why it gets neglected. I'll pitch the idea to Matthew and see if he agrees!

Just PM a global, no need to make a big fuss about it really.

 

I can't remember the exact reason, if I'm honest. I did suggest that a long time ago. A lot of people are wanting animated avatars too which seem to clash with the whole upload system.

I've dropped Matthew a message to see if this can be added to the donation center for the sake of convenience. Will let you all know.

 

Well I did my picture a week or 2 ago and it was up in a matter of hours so maybe you just caught them in a bad time. It really would be a lot better if we could do it ourselves but there is probably something about that that has prevented it from being implemented long ago. We'll see.

Is there anyway to recover it? Spent at least 2 hours typing all that out. it wasnt spam, it wasnt troll, but maybe it belonged in the suggestion forum.

Have you tried putting yourselves in other peoples' shoes? No? You should try it. You'll see things in a whole new perspective.

Try thinking about how bothersome it is for them to change the avatars of other people.

4 days?! Seriously, pull yourself together if this isn't a troll. I rarely check the DL, I'm sure globals do too. It's not the end of the world if your avatar takes a few days longer than you expected. You don't think about anyone but yourself.

I am curious to seeing the content of the thread that was deleted though.

 

Quit trolling,it will get you no where in life honestly and you dont have to try and cut throat me at every turn. It's one of the Global Moderators responsibilities as only they and admins can do it. Via your logic, if a sectional doesn't do any spam reports in his section everyone should feel bad for him and try and think about how he's feeling emotionally? Like a sectional who doesn't like checking PM's because hes sad he will have to lock a few threads and maybe even rename one or two? They have jobs with responsibilities and i'm just asking them to get a wriggle on. You blew this up and you will never see my thread that got deleted.

 

Be more patient, GL's have to do a lot of work and you troll a lot so they probably just thought it was spam.

This is trolling, you don't even understand what trolling is.

Globals have more important responsibilities to attend to. Karl and N4N0 left so that just cuts the old Global team short. Even if they were replaced by 2 new Globals, one of those globals are inactive, and newly promoted globals don't always think of doing those requests first. Like someone said, put yourself in their shoes, you get promoted to Global (Obviously not happening with that attitude of yours), you were dealing with reports previously, now you gain power to all the sections. Would it even cross your mind to deal with the avatar request thread? Is it even that important? Don't use Spam Reports as an example, because that helps keep the forum clean. What does a larger, and possibly animated, avatar do?

It takes Matthew up to 2 weeks to apply a new UI rank or UT, yet no one brings it to the extent you just did. 4 days... Seriously.

You obviously have no clue of the PMs of a mod. A lot of mods have a life and most of them definitely does more than enough to get their quota and more while at the same time juggling to participate in the community.

I've PMed Matthew, and mods a few times before where it has went ignored, you don't see my bitching about it. I understand that they have a ton of PM going in their inbox and things to attend to.

If they came on Sythe to lock a few threads and rename them, shouldn't they go to the Report a Spammer section and not their PM?

Well considering I work 50 hours a week and only can use my iPhone to access sythe that I do not do that nor do I do title changes. I figured mods that have pc access can do them.

 

I can't speak from experience, but I've always understood that applying avatars is the kind of task that is forgotten and simply not handled a good amount of the time, likely because even seeing it requires opening the donor lounge let alone applying the avatars themselves. However if you pester a global on IRC and they have time I've found they'll generally do it for ya.

Either way it just needs to be made more memorable or perhaps the request system should be changed to make it more obvious.

Your thread was deleted by FireZ, probably because the announcement was too soon in coming or it wasn't your place to make the thread at all. Your avatar request is delayed in coming because, as said, it's the last thing any global feels like doing since changing one avatar takes more than 2 minutes of loading in the modcp..
