What are your thoughts on immigration reform in the US? For it? Against it? Why or why not?

I work as a carpenter so I sorta have an underlying dislike of the primarily mexican immigrants coming in and pumping out shoddy work at super cheap prices. I live in Texas, we have been hit hard. Immigrants take so much of the work and dont pay taxes on what they make so it hurts us economically in a number of ways. Especially considering a lot of them are simply saving up to live like kings in mexico or sending it back there altogether so most the money isnt even reintroduced to our economy.

I am against just letting in any and all swinging dicks in the country legally, there are simply too many criminals fleeing other places sneaking in already. However at this point letting them in or "not letting them in" is a moot point, they are here. Getting them legal and in the system may actually be the smart thing to do at this point. Get them where the IRS and our other laws can touch them. My main issue is just them working and not paying taxes, its a lot easier to work for a couple dollars less an hour when uncle sam doesnt get his cut. Citizenship would help level the playing field, because of this I believe illegal immigration would still be popular. Certainly with criminals.

To be honest it's to hard to control immigration. I had a thought that maybe if we adopt the euro system and switch to one currency in North America. This would control not only immigration, but part of the world's economy.
