This is not to shorten/lengthening bumping time.

It's to suggest to have "how many hours ago you bumped".

Like say it's 8:00 am and you go on and its 4:00 pm, some people (like me) get mixed up with times, not that easy... but you know, and I was wondering maybe put it here and it could say [Last bumped: 8 hours ago.]

This could prevent excessive bumping on your own threads by a lot.

    Thanks for reading.

Actually, this idea isn't bad. I think it's a notable subject to implement in subscribed threads only, as long as the coding is available. I don't want to see it in the page listings because that would just clutter everything too badly.

To be completely honest, I feel the idea is just a waste. It's not hard to look at the time of your last post and count how many hours it's been between then and the current time.

TBH I would like the bump rule changed to 2 times per 24 hours (Basically, you can bump an hour apart or 23:59 apart or w/e as long as it is 2 times a day) because I am not able to be on at 4 AM or during school to bump my threads.

    However, I do support

To also be completely honest, for some reason I always had a hard time telling the difference "around the bend," say for instance between 7 AM and 3 PM. I only got the grasp of knowing exactly how much time has passed after I got my first job. It's admittedly easier when you have the convenience of your whole life existing around a 24-hour based time. ;) (0700 hours to 1500 hours is pretty easy to tell.)

It would things undeniably easier for people that have loads of threads in the market, but would this be very difficult to code? If it's going to take a lot of effort to be implemented, then I agree with n4n0, the effort to add such a feature isn't worth it, because it only takes a minute tops to see your last post and add 8 hours to the time of it.

Support. It is sometimes hard.to know when I last bumped some of my threads. If it is possible to input this it would work wonders

No, it's a waste. Just look at your last post you've made. People spend more time IN threads than looking at the thread links anyway, so why pile on information on post bits-- as you've demonstrated with your screenshot-- when it'll likely be ignored anyway.

    I think its a good idea :)
could be tweaked in several options:

    1. Telling you how much time its been since your last post.
    2. Disabling the action to be able to post, basicly you cannot post again on the thread within 8 hours.
    3. putting a little 'its been 7h15 mins since your last post' when you want to put up a new post :)

Only problem I see with this is assume you bump at 4 pm. Some1 replies on your thread at 5 pm. A succesful trade occurs, but there is still more on the thread so he vouches for you at 5: 30 pm, most people will say something a long the lines of ".... is sold" commonly in mass account sales. What would the timer be for the next bump 8 hours after 4pm or 8 hours after 5:30- 6 pm is the main problem I see with that because if your posting inbetween bumps I foresee mess ups and people manipulating the bump system. I can guarentee the same people who break this rule will not stop based on a timer.

This is pointless. It takes simple mathematics to calculate the time last posted + 8 hours.

I agree with Punjabi. With the new bumping rules there are too many complications.

We're aiming not to make the market more confusing for people.

Agreed, and I'm not sure if it's going to take a long time coding.

I agree with what Amethyst has said. It only takes some common sense to determine when you can bump your thread next. Plus it would just create unnecessary work for Matthew or Govind.

Assuming the people who would "need" this feature the most are people who use the market, I would hope they have the basic skills you need to figure out that 1 + 8 = 9, and if you don't, you have no business in the market in the first place.

I hate to sound condescending, but you should be able to add 8 to any number regardless of how good you are at math.

    00:00 + 8 = 09:00
    12:00 + 8 = 20:00

    etc, etc.
