Favorite RuneScape Memories

From getting my 1st 99 years ago, to getting bossing drops, to smiting people in the wild, to interacting with other players - I've surely made a lot of fun memories on RuneScape.

There is 1 that stands above the rest for me though...

My first time going to Bandos with some friends on call, we were trying to find a world and when we logged into a world we saw some guy get combo'ed out and die. We went and finished his kill but didn't get the drop. A little bit later we were in the midst of killing the minions and a random Bandos Chestplate appeared on the ground. By far the most WTF/Happiest moment of my RS career.

What are some of your favorite RuneScape memories?

 

Getting a mithril mace in 2006/7 and thinking I was an absolute G

 

My buddy and me would go into bounty hunter with 45k cash and kill each other in hopes of a couple rune armour piece drops in f2p. Good times

 

Doing the stupid Plateau teleport lure and actually catching a dumbass who was skulled. Tanked from lvl 50 to lvl 6 wildy but eventually killed him for $800 +. Torva/Virtue/(that ranger armor. Pheonix, I think). Man, was I happy.

 

It was so amazing thinking back at some of the lures that used to work back in like 2012 lol

Playing together with friends in the seventh grade. Those were the times.

 

RSC:

- Pking on RSC in 2001
- Getting my first R2H on classic via Lobby certs
- Being around for the phat dupes
- Pretty much enjoying the game in its infancy, where everything was new, and everything was enjoyable
- Was also far younger, and was something my friends and I would look forward to playing after school, weekends, etc etc.


RS2:

- Becoming one of the richest stakers on RS2 2005-07
- Magebox OBS staking
- Pking when barrows was the best armour, Pking before defenders, firecapes, etc.
- MB pking
- Pretty much all of RS2 was a blast up until 2007


RS2: post free trade/wilderness removal

- BH'd for a while, was fun, but quit shorty after


RS2: 2011 - return of free trade/wilderness

- Returned in 2011, staked a fuckload, won a fuckload, sold a fuckload
- Pking with old friends from back in the day
- Quit maybe 1 year after returning

 

Going pking in varrock level one wildy with fire strike as part of a big team in 2003-2004.
Made around 20 seperate accounts to keep doing this with friends

 

I imagine this had to be crazy fun lol

Dang so you've experienced it all that's crazy lol. I remember playing after school with some friends in the computer lab. The game became so addicting that the school decided to block it because we would never do our school work lol

 

Definitely PKing/Bossing with friends. Its what makes the game as fun as it is, the people you do it with

 

pretty much anything as a noob. Those times where you didn't care if you were exp wasting. All you cared was to explore and enjoy the game.

 

Was a p mod like 10-12years ago and jagex hosted a mod inclusive party in game on one of the ships somewhere. Piles of j mods were there. I probably have screenshots on an old hard drive somewhere. Anyways got phished on the account and lost pmod status. Ironic part is that I’ve rwt’ed a small fortune on that acc lol

Probably just as exciting for me was when a j mod asked me ingame if I wanted to be a player mod and I remember responding “id be honored” hahah to be 12 again

Forgot this one: did a lure with jojo3000 with p mod status. Got a warning from jagex lmao

 

The weirdest and happiest moment I probably have is when it was pre-eoc and a guy walked up to me and said "what year is it" I told him and he traded me 69m lmao.

For me, my fondest early runescape memories are:

1. passing through the taverly gate for the first time. (i remember i had to mail jagex money for my membership cause my parents didn't trust the internet...)
2. Actually exploring the land on foot and listening to the rs music! This one time my Irl friend and I walked through bandit camp (desert) to explore, and a level 100 something died while afking in guthans to bandits. He actually died to the dwarf random event, it threw rocks at him til he died. I looted his guthan spear and berserker ring and other goodies. Best... day...ever!

3. I remember using those funds from ^ to buy a granite maul, and i would literally just stay at castle wars all day with granite maul as primary, rune legs and rune platebody. I remember thinking level 58 me was the shit, when i'd run up to a level 100 ice barraging people and just smack him a 7 with my maul.

4. I remember begging people in castle wars lobby to tell me how to transform into an imp or a sheep.

5. I remember doing pest control for literally weeks. Not for void, but noob me would use the points on exp.

6. I remember wanting a dragon axe so badly when they were released. They were literally like 3m. I remember during class, when i was maybe 14, i'd just space out and calculate on my calculator how much money id make chopping yew logs and alching yew long bows.

7. I remember fishing lobsters in karamja as a f2p noob, and someone would always ask for a fire. I also recall getting my first ever rune weapon (battleaxe) on karamja. Pretty sure i overpayed for it, but i would slay lesser demons like, all weekend long with that bad boy, hoping for a rune med drop.

8. I remember going to iron dragons at level like 80 with a d scim and monk robes, and killing my first ever metal dragon, and receiving dragon platelegs. I remember just staring at the d legs, thinking they were red d hide chaps or something. At the time, d legs were 2.5mish.

9.My most painful memory, would be slaving the elf city flax field for enough flax for a whip. I remember i really wanted a whip, and i picked like 30,000 flax for it.

10. Best memory would be buying my first whip. Back in 2007 the designated spot for buying a whip was in seers bank (actually, right outside seers bank, near a maple tree).

Man how are none of yall gonna mention reverent orcs
I remember my friends and I would be gettin chased down by those damn things and hiding in that church with rev orcs and rev knights campin the door with 2 tents and no smores.

Another favorite memory is being new to runescape, exploring outside of lumbrdige and pick pocketing the farmer up north for like 2-3 hours thinking i was making bank LOL

Also karamja fishing dock was basically an old fashioned discord tbh

As for quest, desert treasure & lunar diplomacy were my favorite quest memories.

 

Man @inferno caper I almost shed a tear relating to all of those. Thank you for the great nostalgia.

@ASAP Roc I forgot all about Revs. I remember sitting at green dragons kind of afking then look back and see I'm getting smacked for like 18s was so frustrating. Being a noob running through the wild trying to keep my 180k loot lol

 

Pickpocketing farmers in Lumbridge for what felt like a week to afford an adamant scimitar from the guy in al-karid

 

When free trade was reintroduced to rs2 and I turned my 70m hard earned bank into max cash in two days lol.
