With the new update to the Sythe Layout, I feel like it is along the right path but maybe a few small adjustments could be made.

Currently, there is a side panel that has our Account at a Glance


Although this is a great idea I feel like it could be restructured a little bit. When you click on your avatar you are sent to http://www.sythe.org/profile.php?do=editavatar. This isn't terrible, but I feel it would be better to have it so you can click on your Avatar and it link you to your Profile http://www.sythe.org/members/stopsign-356106.html I doubt many people are going to need to update their avatar that much that they need a direct link to it on the home page. Just a small suggestion from the small amount of time I have been using the new layout.

 

Sorry, no support. You can click your name which is right next to your avatar.

 

Clicking on my name does not send me to my profile... In fact there is nothing i can click for my name...

 

If you click your name a menu appears, then it says "View Public Profile".

 

Yeah your talking about something completely different then me.... I am talking about on the home page...

 

I don't think this is needed. First I click my avatar and it takes me to my profile from there I can change things. Or you can click user cp at the top. Also most avatars from donors have to be added by a mod.

 

I think he's saying that the 'Your account at a glance', should be displayed on the home page, as he shows, via clicking our avatars.

 

What I'm saying is that by clicking my avatar on the "Account at a Glance" section should bring me to "My Profile" instead of editing your avatar.

 

No, what hes saying is that while on the Nextgen (not Nextgen Lite) theme, there is an account at a glance feature. By clicking your avatar within this feature it redirects you to where you change your avatar. Instead of being directed there, he wants to be directed to his profile.

 

Exactly ^^^. It should be easier to get to your profile vs editing your avatar...

 

Thing is that I use next gen light because I think having the account at a glance on the side looks tacky. IMO we should just scrap it I mean I don't need to see my post count. Pms as I can see on top.

But back to the issue, I can't imagine it's hard to code a redirect from avatar to our profiles so you can change whatever.

 

I personally don't use the Nextgen version, I use the Lite. The change seems very insignificant as I'm not sure many people use that version. However, it does seem more convenient to have it link to your profile, so if it's an easy change I support.

 

Totally agree, I love the lite version but everytime I reset my browser or delete cookies/history it makes it back to nextgen >_>
