New logo competition?

I know we changed it from "Did somebody say cheating" to "Craigslist of virtual goods" but i feel with the new sythe background design should come a new slogan, like, a total athestic overhall of the site.

I feel the craigslist one gave new members a good idea of what the site was about, but the reference to 'craigslist' (Somthing that is only popular in america) is really weird and unnescary.

I propose you let the members of sythe come up with a new slogan for the site!

I don't see why we need a tagline. Just remove it.

 

Craigslist of virtual goods is a decent tagline, it summarizes that we are a trading site for virtual goods efficiently. As for your America reference, yes it is only popular in America but lots of people all over the world are aware of what it is. I feel its fine as is.

It would be an unnecessary change, but that doesn't mean it's a bad idea.

Renewing some things once in a while should be done, just like the logo.

No support, there's absolutely no reason to change it. Craigslist may be originally an American service, but it's internationally known and internationally used (craigslist.co.uk for example), so there's no confusion as to what we mean by "a craigslist of virtual goods". It aptly describes our purpose; it's concise, original and sounds good.

 

I support, have some really good ideas for the competition when it happens.

Yes thats true, theres craiglist in Australia but it's profoundly unheard of considering we have local alternatives such as Gumtree classifieds, ect. It's not as popular internationally as as you lead on.

If i can recall, craigslist requires that you must meet the person in real life, which is rarely the situation on sythe, so this may confuse and scare newbies entering our site.

You think we can't come up with something just as good, even more catchier and, considering we're changing the background, why not a new logo as well? People know what sythe is after they sign up to it, so by me looking at the craigslist of virtual goods logo every day is like "Im glad our site is 100% focused on babysitting the newcomers to death instead of creating somthing both new and old members can appreciate."

Whats concise have anything to do about it? You think if we make a new logo it will be 2 sentences long?
how is it "original" if we're using another companies name in our logo? That's like the opposite of originality.

No one takes it as literally as you do. Obviously no one is meeting in real life for runescape. I don't care if you think it needs to be replaced, either come up with something clever, or stop trying to fix something that isn't broken.

It's a logo, if someone can come up with a creative slogan I don't think they would decline it.

The craigslist of virtual goods is unoriginal and boring.

 

This was a suggestion for a competition, much larger then me just coming up with a new slogan but somthing to bring sythe together and develope and mould our website..

 

I don't think it needs to be replaced, Craigslist is still a popular website to this day, and is still used world-wide.
