Thoughts on ronaldo playing poker?

Do you think ronaldo playing poker is good for poker? (the Brazilian football legend ronaldo)
Poker doesen't have the biggest folowing, and i think that is partially due to the gambling nature of the sport.

I don't play a huge amount of poker, however i do watch LOTS of poker, and i think ronaldo has made a very interesting appearance in the poker scene, and actually is a decent player from what I've seen so far

Do you guys watch poker? or do you find watching boring and only play?
Or are you like me and mostly watch poker and don't play a lot?

Well, i care because i enjoy watching poker, he gets to burst on to the poker scene and and be a high roller because he played football, where as it takes good poker players years

 

Poker to me is fun for leisure but it's bad when u play it to profit and not for recreation. Sure Ronaldo may be rich but depending on how big he plays he can lose it in a matter of seconds

 

Poker doesn't remotely interest me. I'm into gambling just don't find the game to be that thrilling.

Why would it be bad for poker?

 

Yeah, i don't really play it i just enjoy watching it.. I'll play it if its at like a house party or something, like a small buy in sort of thing other than that, i'm not hugely interested because I know what can happen if you were to get addicted

 

I'm not necessarily saying it'll be bad for poker, I just think its unfair that he gets to burst into huge buy in tournaments because of his publicity the particular event I was watching you had to qualify and I believe he was the only player that that did not need to.

However, I do understand that any publicity is good publicity, there is a few sport stars that have turnt to poker, last years ept winner was a female tennis player, and teddy sheringham played a few years back
