MacBook Pro Retina vs. MacBook Air

I want to know how much better is the macbook pro retina vs the macbook air when it comes to watching movies/tv shows/music?

 

Both can view media content just fine.

 

I understand that, but how much better is it on the retina?

 

I at separate times have owned both. Do you mean the Retina screen versus the normal screen or the computer overall?

 

You won't find very much content at native 2880x1800. You'll just have more screen real estate.

 

I see. So watching movies looks pretty much the same on both?

 

No, screen on the Macbook Pro Retina is overall better, it has better color, contrast etc. Not to mention Macbook air is below 1080P so you won't be able to watch full HD movies in their native resolution on the Air.

If you want it to watch movies get the Macbook Pro Retina. I owned both and sound is about the same, maybe slight edge to the Pro.

I've seen a retina display once. It is fucking amazing. It makes me want some 4k monitors to code on very badly.

 

I have Macbook Pro Retina and I must say the computer is absolutely amazing!

 

I have the retina macbook pro from late 2013, it's top but GL playing any games on it.

 

Retina has better resolution. Depends on what you're looking for though.

 

What do you guys recommend the 13inch or 15inch?

You got the 15inch? Is it worth paying the extra money, then just buying a 13inch?

 

I've tried both 15' and 13' and I would definitely say get the 15' because simply bigger is better. It is worth the extra money.

I used the air for a bit and loved it , was very smooth and good quality. If I were you I'd go with they 13 inch as well.
