Thoughts on Jagex offering in-game gold/item selling?

We all saw how Diablo 3 came out with the Real Money Auction House, so my question to Sythe is what do you think would happen if Jagex released an in-game gold/item selling feature? Or if they just outright sold gold & items to players (like SoF)?

Just a late night thought.

 

It would have to contain similar values as Diable 3's Auction House. I would absolutely adore it. Seeing as it would be a win/win situation without having to be frowned upon by nit wits who make it their goal to go against you at all cost because you would rather buy/sell items via real life money instead of crunching the numbers ineffectively in-game.

 

Definitely. And I think it would solve Jagex's income problem. They'd basically run it like a private server. But think of the monies....the perpetual monies flowing into their wallets...

Honestly, it would make gold/item selling all the more legitimate. But as far as the status of the Sythe black market...would it still be around? Quite frankly, that's my only concern.

 

I think it would be great if they did this it would help them get more players and some extra income.

It would ruin runescape. Ruinscape. If this happened it would take ALL attention away from sythe's gold markets, and people would just boycott the game, with most of these big gold companies just dumping a load cheaper than rs wanted for it purely to crash the system, and they couldn't play the RWT card as they are only re-selling a product which they now own.

 

I totally agree with you on that. It definitely would hone its reputation as Ruinscape. But if they could control it somehow, prevent complete price crashing, etc.. somehow, then maybe, just maybe it might work.

 

their are still many people who believe buying gold and botting are bad, and if jagex was to sell gold a lot would quit cuz is an advantage over those who won't be able to afford it. many players who were always against rwt and botting will quit. thats the only thing jagex has on it's side their "passion" for "helping" the game and "not become all about money" and they "create better bot detection systems" and "ban rwters". this is what keeps many from quitting and the game from dieing completely . jagex wouldn't wanna ruin that and see their game go to hell because in the long run it will make the game die quicker and it would result in a greater loss of money. thats just my opinion though.

 

I don't really support Jagex for doing rwt through the squeal of fortune, now doing it without it, just straight gold in bank would totally destroy the game. It would be pay to win pretty much.
