You're getting a pretty low end GPU, assuming you're not planning on high-end gaming with it.

Your Motherboard is not compatible with your processor. It only takes Intel CPUs, and you have an AMD processor. I recommend finding an Intel one, they are far better than any AMD processor. If you can give me a price limit for the processor then I can find a decent one for you.

Your power supply is alright. Although personally I would for for a better brand like Corsair or something. What you have right there is fine though.

I actually think the integrated graphics that comes with the APU is actually superior to the geforce, so you can drop that.

And use this motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130641 as it is compatible with the APU.

That should do it for your build. Quite a decent budget build.

I'll work on something optimal for that price range when I have the time (in a couple hours).

Put together a nice build based on OP. Upgraded APU, and paired with 1866 RAM. Took out graphics card of course. Changed PSU, matched mobo sockets, and added a heatsink. It's going to cost around $350, you'll go over budget with tax, but it'll be worth it. RAM is $7, APU $13, and HDD $10 off price you see. $354.93 will be the total. You can go without the heatsink, but I HIGHLY recommend it.

Here's a better idea: Instead of spending $30 on that heatsink, spend some money into a decent case with good cooling. The case he selected is pretty much the bare minimum.

    Suggestions:

    Antec 300 Illusion - comes with 4 fans: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129066
^It's on sale for $58, but it will most likely rise pretty soon.

Other options are the rosewill challenger, the regular antec 300, or the haf 912.

Other than that, great budget build.

You could go that route, but with an APU equipped with a nice heatsink you have lower temps than a case with decent cooling. Aftermarket heatsink will fair better with OC'ing too.

That graphics card has a questionable track record, along with the HDD. I don't see how this is "brilliant", considering the power supply won't even work with the build due to only one 4 pin connector and no PCI-E connectors as well. Try to cover all fronts before proposing a build to someone first.

Ah yeah, I did miss the power supply.

About the questionable track records on those items... that's what you get when you try to pack a better build into a smaller price you take risks. Not like you can't exchange if it doesn't work.

I personally own a 6850 and it's fucking fantastic budget card.

$400 build doesnt need a fucking heatsink, its budget why waste 30 on a HS and cheap on other shit.
change mages gpu to a 7750, due to no extra psu power needed.
change mages ram to a 2x2kit, ram he chose is out of stock and 2x2 will perform a bit better.
change hdd to http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148854 same price, bigger.

Unsure if you still need it, but get a low end intel cpu like the g620 over a AMD - the AMD choice would only be best if you require onboard graphics as the AMDs is much better than the intels.
