Thinking about coming back

I am tempted to try out osrs again but first off how is the player base and community? Is pking active anymore or are most people focused on Pvm? And if I come back is an ironman account worth it?

 

If you're going to comeback, don't limit yourself by using an ironman account. PVP is definitely active, so is PVM. The OSRS community is GROWING.

 

OSRS community is really nice & active.
Once you go Runescape, you never.. Run Escape?

 

I came back... I haven't really made too many friends on OSRS and due to the fact that I became unactive, the people that I did talk to didn't remember me. It's a lot more fun with friends and I have zero and I'm just skilling. I joined a FC and I've tried to be active in it so it makes it a little better.

IMO you should come back. Runescape is amazing and its super addictive yet fun. The experience of Runescape is very unique and I urge you on returning.

 

I would give it a try. PvMing and pvping are very active, and I am sure would you like it. Iron man is a challenge, if you are up to it give it a try as well

 

Once f2p drops there will be an increase in active players on osrs. I know about 15 people personally that are going to start up again. I was never much of a p2per. Love f2p.

Ironman looks interesting but what are the perks to doing it? I read the wiki, is it just a more challenging way to level?

 

See I loved player interactions jus as much as the game itself and I'm sure my friends won't remember me either

Iron man is just like a social single player version of osrs. You can talk and chat but nothing else. Your on you own.

I wouldn't say it has the best community, but its definitely active. Most of the streamers are 07 players and the community is pretty involved

 

If I'm not mistaking they're adding more features to pking and new bosses being added. Grand exchange is soon being added too, so lets see if the community will grow or not. Anyways I think you should join with a regular account, not an iron man account.

 

Don't make an ironman account, lol.

It's definitely worth making an ironman if you played osrs before.

 

Honestly, If I was you, I wouldn't come back until does something about there servers.

 

People complain about servers but jagex are being ddosd, ddosing is anti social behaviour and cannot me completely combated, Jagex of course are going to do all they can to defeat these sad guys that do this, anyhow I am hooked on old school, I think about how I want to built my account while in bed with my gf, its so crazy I make her do my clue scroll puzzles and she even enjoys that lol.

 

In addition let me just have a small rant, I can't believe people do not yet beleive in old school runescape yet, it has made small and steady growth ever since its launch and will not be stopping anytime soon, very exciting, the addition of the grand exchange will see the game looking more attractive I reckon we can steal some of the eoc players aswel.

Last thing, free to play will be becoming permanent which should see a small boost in activity aswell, I'm super happy.

 

You don't have any special perks or something like that, but once you e.g. finally get a good drop or a good item it feels much more rewarding. Obviously it's much more challenging and also takes much more time until you slowly move forward to your goals because you have to get everything yourself. When you for example want to train range with the magic shortbow, you're tempted to also train fletching up to level 85, which you know takes alot of time because it makes you also need to train woodcutting and so on.

It's fun but IMO it just takes too much time to be successfull, and due to my Job I don't got that time at the moment, so...
