I thought it was 12 dead, but it says here 11.
None the less, can we trust people as much now?

    Discuss.

There have been many shootings before; what's so special about this to suddenly betray our trust in people in general?

Because it's kind of ironic that a person that's supposed to protect our nation ended up betraying it.

You really shouldn't say "our nation", it's very ignorant. So? He was mentally unbalanced.

Military's fault completely. There is no reason the shooter's metal state should have gotten to the point of this before anyone noticed.

There were plenty of warning signs that he was going over the deep end, especially in his blog (they didn't know for sure that it was his, but the vidence was pretty stacked against him). The primary reason the military didn't boot him though was because they were afraid of getting flak over the fact he was muslim, and attempting to be politically correct got 11 people killed.

If he was Christian, they would've atrributed it to a mental disability or stress caused by his peers, but because he's Muslim, they claim he's a terrorist.

Much of this is just feeding into the war over political correctness, and I'm just pissed that this guy gave people a reason (albeit false) to hate muslims again.

He wasn't mentally unbalanced, and even if he was, like said above, they should of taken action.
And they also didn't do any background information about him, they didn't know that he was affiliated with terroristic groups.

When a military psychiatrist, a major nonetheless, can't be trusted with a weapon, who can you trust. I thought only some of your kids were fucked up, but damn.
