Wondering what the general thought on this is. Obviously you aren't allowed to spam people's PM's here, because its obnoxious.

But it seems to be tolerated in-game, and the sites that take part in it may list themselves here. I guess there is an issue where someone could spam another sites name attempting to get them in trouble.

But what does this extend to? Can they spam my email or my social networks? My phone? Etc.

Kind of just thinking about it a little, not really suggesting anything.

I think the difference is you can block them offsite. I'm not sure if the ignore feature extends to pms.

Yeah I got an email from Food4rs when i've never registered on any website remotely related to them. Upon searching for my email I found it in an old forum database leak on Pastebin... I'm pretty sure they're using database leaks/email lists to find people to spam with their advertisements lol.

Definitely illegal in many countries, but this really isn't our forum's place to govern. If they breaking Spam laws in your country, report them to the relevant governmental agencies.

I guarantee no action would be taken. Even in america they have better things to do.

Same, getting rswalmart PM's (like 5 a minute when my private messaging is on) and emails. I've never purchased from them or done anything more than clicked onto their webpage. I have no account with them, and no option to un-subscribe.

Just another form of advertising imo. It's allowed to advertise skype mass messages on Sythe, so I don't see how this should be different

Sythe's rule on this only covers the site itself, this isn't like offsite scamming or blackhat and different sites and markets have different rules
