Thought on the bot nuke?

what do you guys think the impact on the bot nuke is going to be? ive heard most people say that simba is going to be fine, but then others have said its gonna be fucked. the people i know who've said its gonna be fucked dont even bot or no about botting, but i still dont know what to think. simba was back up within a day last bot nuke so why would it be any different this go around?

 

I believe Jagex will never stop the scrip writers.

Simba/RID will probably be back up within a week after the nuke.

Not sure about any other clients though.

The nuke might make the game slightly more enjoyable to play again.

 

Honestly, no one can know.

The nuke is only aimed at Java/Injection bots, and they won't release it unless it 'works'.
So for sure all Java bots will go down at least temporarily, how long until the are back up, or IF they will ever be back up is known and depends on how hard the developers work to work around it.

Since the nuke is not aimed towards color bots, RiD and Simba (and that one other Java Color Bot I forgot the name) should be absolutely fine afterwords.

Jagex did say however after Optimus, they will try and eliminate color bots also. But ever since color bots have been around nothing has stoped them hard in their tracks, just minor tweaks and updates often need to be done for them to get in working order again.

The common thought is that as long as humans can play, so can color bots. But there are discussions about little tetchy things they can implement to stop color bots, but on the other side ways around these have also been discussed.

 

I'm keen for bots to go down for a month or so, sell my merched goods. Double my bank. Then bots come back. keep botting.

Tbh injection bots will allways be there because you can easily hook etc etc i think anyways , they could make it so you dont download the catche/client files blah blah, site remote connects to the game or something i have no idea but meeeeeh either way tbh colour bots will allways be about

Coming out this month targetting java/inflection bots such as rarebot, epicbot and powerbot. It is thought that colour bots such as simba and rune dream will still be functionable.

 

Optimus isnt a mass destroyer, like you might think.
As of right now part one of the "nuke" is out. All it currently is, is a library that switches things around thus stoping bots making you log out.

The second part of this nuke is going to be the "mass" ban and from what i hear they are targeting more "main" accounts and there going to screw all the hunter bots over probably with it because the top like 20 accounts are botting 24/7 with 200m xp.

Surf the powerbot fourms, there's always scripters talking about it when one of the leechers post something stupid like "When will i not be able to bot".

 

The 2nd part of Optimus is also a series of Mininukes. Essentially, they launch the nuke, break injection, X days pass, bots are back up, Jagex launches another mininuke, and repeat. They also may be installing later on methods to fight bots, of all kinds. Sounds to me like improvements of detection systems, on top of injection nuking every week or so. This will just mean that scripters will have to make some improvements, RiD however, doesn't really need to make any changes, as the automated detection system doesn't pick it up anyway. They *may* or may not do mass bans, they made claims like that before last bot nuke, and they barely banned anyone. It's more work to ban a ton of past botters than to just nuke the majority of the bots in the game with the press of a button? Then, no need to try and ban people when most of the bots aren't functional. Even then, that would restrict them to searching for color bots, which are a bit more difficult to catch.

 

I can tell you with out a single doubt in my mind that there will be a "mass" ban. It doesnt mean that the bots are done. What i meant that be is showing an example out of people to the community to keep the people who dont macro, and new comers the idea's that botting will get you banned. thus explained with the work of the hunter bots at 200m xp.

 

do you work for jagex? because how else would you tell us without a single doubt of your mind? the only way you could do that is by being certain. jagex hasn't even released anything about it. so more like you have a strong opinion.

 

Lol, play the game. I get Pmods to talk to me all the time about this nuke. I recently screenied some of the things a mod named mystic was saying and made a thread about it (link at bottom). Its amazing the type of information you can get out of people by being social. So it's not just my "strong" opinion.

That's a PMod, they actually have absolutely NOTHING to do with Jagex & the staff. They're just someone who actively changes their password/recoveries and reports a lot of players. They don't know any more information about Optimus than you do. Don't be so easy to believe the BS random people type.

 

i was thinking the same thing. they're just moderators, they dont have secret information that we don't. what he sid means absolutely nothing to me, and i already knew that information.

 

This. Player Moderators are not privy to that information, they are merely in game moderators elected because they're nice and helpful. If you heard this from a J Mod then it would be more credible. What you heard and are taking for fact is their speculation. They may/may not have heard it from a J Mod, you can never know. They may be trying to fuck with you as they suspect you of being a botter, you never know.
