What are some differences between the state and federal court systems?

What is the most significant reason why the systems are different?

In our state trial systems, most cases are resolved without a trial – through plea agreements. Why do you believe so many cases are resolved through plea bargaining? Do you believe there are better alternatives to plea bargaining so many cases? If so, what are they? If not, why not? Please explain in detail why you believe as you do.

This doesn't sound like a SFA discussion. It sounds like you're wanting us to answer your US History homework. There are little to no areas for discussion or interpretation.

It is quite obvious why plea bargains are favored over full sentences. You're pleading to a generally lesser charge to minimize your jail time. Plea bargaining allows for several things: speedy trials, reduced sentences, a more streamline process in totality, and it unclutters a courts docket.

Please make sure what you're posting is relevant to the SFA and abides by stickies; you'll need a reasoned argument in the OP to start discussion.
